As a Guitar Hero veteran, I was thoroughly unimpressed by Band Hero's setlist or difficulty. Once you've endured the strains of playing through the Halen or Metallica tracks of the predecessors on Expert the difficulty of the poppy tracks on BH feel insulting. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's actually quite a fun break from the harder games in this series. As a Guitar Hero veteran, I was thoroughly unimpressed by Band Hero's setlist or difficulty. I mean, Spice Girls? Jesse McCartney? Really Activision? That said, this is definitely a fun party game and a good gateway for new players, but if you're playing solo and have alot of GH experience then give this a rent just for the camp value. Expand

ive played alot of theese music games such as guitar hero 2 ,3 and world tour as well as rock band 1 and 2 and the AC/DC track pack. i was not very intrested in this game when it first came out and waited and got it off ebay with a guitar and mic for $23 with shipping . which feels like a real bargan . the track list pretty much makes or breaks it for me how much i will enjoy playing thisive played alot of theese music games such as guitar hero 2 ,3 and world tour as well as rock band 1 and 2 and the AC/DC track pack. i was not very intrested in this game when it first came out and waited and got it off ebay with a guitar and mic for $23 with shipping . which feels like a real bargan . the track list pretty much makes or breaks it for me how much i will enjoy playing this and about half the music in this game is crap but this game was targeted for younger gamers and i am 32 so half theese songs i never heard of and wish i never did. its a better choice for some thing to play with your kids. the best music game is still rock band 2 in my book. 1. Neversoft and Activision have built on the successful design of Guitar Hero 5 and given it a fresh new look and replaced all that aggressive rock and pounding metal with fun and energetic pop music and the smooth sounds of classic rock from the past three decades that will certainly appeal to younger gamers and their parents.

Band Hero is a good game, but it lacks any kind of spark that makes it feel unique. In the end, this is one of the examples people will point to when they talk about Activision milking the Guitar Hero franchise for all it’s worth – even though this time the milk is quenching the thirst of every Taylor Swift fan out there with a plastic guitar.
  3. It’s hard to take Band Hero out of the context of its recent music game brethren. Band Hero is the least innovative of the bunch, but that certainly doesn’t make it bad. For players who found previous releases too hard-edged for their tastes, Band Hero is exactly what they’ve been waiting for.
