I only played the first two missions and decided this game is not for me. I would not say what I came across was bad I just found it uninteresting. The game starts you off with a basic mech and you take on missions and destroy something for in game currency to buy and swap parts and customize your mech rinse and repeat i guess. There is a story to make it somewhat more interesting but for me this was not very exciting at all. The action seemed like it could have became faced paced and good but I thought the control schemes were mapped well but performed a little non responsively. What I really thought was poor was the camera while moving from horizontal to vertical and since the game revolves around movement I stopped very quickly and put the game down and moved on to something else. Before playing this game, I had no experience with the Armored Core franchise. It unfortunately is not a good introduction. I played the game for around 30 minutes and was already tired of it. The gameplay is, for me atleast, the worst part of the game. Controls are clumsy and often it is not clear what is to be expected in a mission. The gameplay also feels very bland, just some shooting and boosting. The extensive customization options sadly do not make up for this. All in all this is not a game I would recommend Expand

If you think mech customization and boost-filled battles sound like your cup of tea, Armored Core does deliver on those parts.
  2. What's so strange about For Answer is its trading of extensive customization for actual gameplay. Sure, you can build the ultimate mech, customizing it to your heart's content, yet when you actually play the game, you realize its shortcomings.

The game does provide a few improvements, bringing revised flight controls and new cooperative mission modes, but For Answer lacks what a great series needs in order to stay relevant: progress.
