Regardless of the fact that it is a kids game, Zathura really doesn’t do anything more than create bad frame rate issues and a straining time on anyone.
-
Ultimately Zathura is a full priced game with the least amount of play value I've seen in recent memory. An average gamer would get through this adventure in a few short hours which means for goodness sakes, rent this one if you're itching to play the movie.
-
AceGamezZathura isn't a particularly bad title; it just lacks anything that puts it above most other recent releases.
-
A brief and generic action game that does nothing to distinguish itself from the glut of similar--and cheaper--games on the market.
-
I don’t care how much you loved the film, do not buy this game. If your children absolutely loved the movie, then give Zathura a rental at most for them to get their thrills.
-
This is a short, tired, and ineffectual piece of work that is best left forgotten.
-
It is rushed, cheap looking, repetitive and gets old fast, and for the price it’s not worth it.
-
I can’t really say I enjoyed anything about this game. It is completely normal for a franchise title, anything based on a film or TV property, and although I wish it weren’t true, I can’t recommend this game to anyone.
-
Unfortunately Zathura plays like it was won in a car boot sale. Avoid.
-
It actually plunges past mediocrity into outright craptitude.
-
The laughable A.I., boring level design, pedestrian graphics, and tattered story make this a game that should be avoided by young and old alike.
-
Kids have done this all before over and over again in more distinct and sleeker settings. Besides the cool runaway Robot sequences there's nothing that's challenging, innovative or eye-catching about Zathura.
-
To me, I wouldn’t even leave this game in the basement, as you never know who may find it.

Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKThose in search of family-friendly thrills should pick up the last "Sly" game instead. [Mar 2006, p.85]
-
PSM2 Magazine UKBlocky, awkward and creatively broken, Zathura is another lazy, cut-price movie tie-in that just isn't worth getting involved in. [Apr 2006, p.73]
-
An utter disgrace. It’s tedious, blatantly made on a zero budget with zero effort, and consequently is about as much fun as spending a day transcribing random pages from the phone book.
