As the spiritual successor to "Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge," Zapper delivers more challenging action puzzle gameplay in a colorful, upbeat setting.
-
The control scheme and presentation makes the game very boring to play after only a short period of time, not to mention that the story mode wont last you longer than a day.
-
Its short length and lack of visual polish keep Zapper well below the charm and fun of its predecessors.
-
I personally despised the game, considered it nothing more than a waste, and would advise you not to purchase it for yourself. It would be much better in the hands of a raving 10 year-old that enjoyed Disneys A Bugs Life and that you need out of your hair for a few hours.
-
Play MagazineI liked Zapper for its utterly old-school approach to simplicity and twitch-based gameplay, even it if could have been a little better on all fronts. [Nov 2002, p.92]
-
As much as I wanted to love Zapper, I just couldn't allow myself to become addicted to any of the fun elements it had to offer.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineIf you've played "Frogger 2" on the PS1, that's all you really need to know; this is pretty much the same game. [Jan 2003, p.136]
-
PSM MagazineThe level designs are limited, repetitive, and visually uninspiring, while Zapper has all the personality of a last-minute stand-in. [Jan 2003, p.42]
-
Its gameplay is simplistic while still offering challenges and rewards that will keep kids interested beyond the Story mode. [Score for Kids = 80]
