Nov 20, 2012As soon as I saw you can taze people and bash thugs with a riot shield, I knew I had to buy this game. Even someone who doesn't enjoy action games will have loads of fun for hours. The huge selection of items and unlockables and loads of missions makes up for every problem the game has. Trust me, you will have a good time if you buy this game! It still holds up well even today

AndyJun 18, 2006I love this game - because it's a 'game', not trying to be an 'experience'. It's packed with collectibles and that gives an infuriatingly addictive feel. I don't get why people think it doesn't look that hot - I think these reviewers must be looking at too many Xbox 360 games in between their PS2 sessions.

Jun 7, 2013If you're looking for a highly satisfying shooter with a constant chaotic feeling, Urban Chaos: Riot Response is one very good choice. It may not have the technical perfection or history-value of some other shooters, but when it comes to fun, this game delivery the goods and shows itself as a really addictive experience.

Dec 5, 2018Definitely one of my favourite all time games.
Playing as a law enforcement for once was quite the refreshment. Story may not be the best, but the brutality and action made up for that. Just legendary. -

Jul 19, 2017Ahh. The very first game developed by Rocksteady, the studio that went on to make the Batman Arkham Trilogy. Even for it's time, Urban Chaos is a mostly polished and enjoyable experience, despite the graphics looking very poor by today's standards. Though I will personally not buy this game, feel free to get it if you are a massive Rocksteady fan.

Oct 14, 2020A long time ago that one was a chance find which surprised me, because no one talked about it besides its good quality. I really liked the soundtrack and the scenario. The mechanics and graphics make it to one of the best PS2 FPS. For all who search for an excellent FPS from this console generation this one is definitely worth a look.

Jul 12, 2023First person shooter involving a riot response squad that's a little bland to look at, but is quite well done on the whole and has plenty of side challenges to add to its replay value.

Aug 22, 2023Very good game, with tons of options for combat and a fun multiplayer. Had a ton of fun with it as a teen.

Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKGreat shooting, epic-set pieces, regrettable sewer level. This is a satirical, heartfelt love letter to the kind of police force we'd like to join. [May 2006, p.74]
-
PSW Magazine UKIf you like your game with punch, this is as hard-hitting as they come. Varied missions and non-stop chaos make this a winner. [Issue 81]
-
PSM2 Magazine UKAlways enjoyable and never dull. It might lack polish in some areas but it makes up for it with loads of character and plenty of kick-ass, laugh-out-loud aggression. [June 2006, p.52]
