Its not perfect, but its a lot better and a lot less glitchy than a ton of other racers out there that I have played. After you get used to the controls its a lot of fun.
-
A bare-bones rendition of "Gran Turismo 3" or "Sega GT 2002," albeit without the preponderance of cars and special effects.
-
A standard racer... None of the gimmicks it tries really work. You never get a sense of a dramatic underlying storyline.
-
What few vehicles/locations the game has have been rendered and programmed with enough care to make them come across as genuine labors of love.
-
TIR ought to be politely referred to as SIR... Sorta Immersion Racing. Everything works, but it doesn't offer anything that hasn't been done better before.
-
Hard-core GT fans who love the intricate, inchworm tactics that can make racing a science will find some budget fun here, but others run a serious risk of falling asleep at the wheel.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineAll the cars suffer from terrible handling physics, which are only made worse by the appallingly sensitive setup on the analog controls. [Mar 2003, p.114]
