In achieving immediate accessibility, the game has lost a lot of its depth, meaning you'll be racking up gold medals with little effort. [Apr 2006, p.91]
  2. You get a fairly standard sports game that doesnt harken to one person or another, its just the sports. Really at this price, its a good deal for the kids.
  3. Increasing the difficulty rating doesn't really make them more challenging, just more frustrating.
  4. If any publisher wants success with Beijing 2008, they really have to start work on it now because as has been proven time and time again, rushing Olympic games does not work.
  5. As for Torino 2006, I would look in the bargain bin for "International Winter Sports 2002" instead.

There's a Jamaican bobsled team joke in here somewhere, but I'm too disappointed to figure it out. [Apr 2006, p.78]

For what it's worth, Torino 2006 is actually a pretty fun game. The graphics look amazing for a PS2 game, the controls are a little clunky but easy to get used to, and the games themselves feel like the real thing. Was there room for more effort? Yeah, sure. But not all game compilations have to include everything. As long as the games included are fun, that's what matters. Full Review »

Sure it takes a few turns to get the controls figured out and there is a bit of button mashing on 1 or 2 events, but there is quite a bit of variety here and once you get the hang of it, it's great fun to get 4 of your mates together for a turn-based challenge! Not the best game available, but certainly decent value for mulitplayer fun. Full Review »
