The gameplay is really bad, it's so linear and repetitive and predictable everything explodes or brakes and then you have to push a button to save your ass from the explosion/fall. And the rest of the time it's just another shoot em up action game which isn't that bad but wasn't Tomb Raider about exploring tombs Well, in this game they are "optional". Why Because tomb raider is dead. Really, if you're a Tomb Raider fan, don't buy this game Full Review »

Due to the stagnation of the current gen of gaming, it's given me motivation and reason to go back and play older games that I may have missed. I was a big fan of the original and I can say with all due respect this game is just as good if not better than the original. The game controls smoother, the levels are just as big and creative, the puzzles are among the best of any game I've played. THIS is how you do a remake. I hear some people saying the game was dumbed down a bit, with the way it auto grabs, but IMO the game makes up for it by adding other complexities in the platforming that such a change allows for. You can also turn off the autograbbing if you like, but you'll realize it doesn't really make a difference aside from requiring you to just pointlessly holding a button down.. TR:A is also not afraid to challenge you, especially in the time trials, which are there to add some great challenges to unlock a plethora of interesting content that you'd have to pay for in the form of DLC today. My only complaint with the game is that the grabbing and jumping at certain angles can be somewhat glitchy, there's kind of a learning curve to figuring how it works and how to avoid it. Otherwise this is one hell of a game for both fans of TR and platforming alike. Full Review »

With fewer similarities and more changes. TRA does a good job capturing the the mood and feel of the original, but it fails to surpass it. Even with updated technology. This is basically Tomb Raider: Legend, but done in style the resembles the classics. The gameplay here is deeper than the original and even Legend. Visuals, music, and re-playability are all done well. Probably one of the better of modern Tomb Raider games since the original. Full Review »
