There's honestly no reason to buy this game. If you're a fan of the movie just go buy the DVD, because this game really isn't worth playing.
-
Although it does have some neat elements, such as being able to play as the bad guy and several spell elements, it doesn't make up for the lack of texture quality, as well as the shaky framerate and bad camera.
-
It's always interesting to have the option of being the bad guy, but truly bland gameplay and a relatively short quest sap the fun and make this a rental at best.
-
Talking of light, there are several periods playing as Rick that you'll be inching forward down rocky tunnels with virtually no illumination to help you and the 3D map that you can cut to when you're feeling lost is worse than useless.
-
A year ago this would have been a slight-step above "Army Men"-like badness, but in late 2001 it just doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of justifying its existence as stand-alone PS2 software.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineA terrible game. [Jan 2002, p.130]
-
Game InformerThrough unresponsive controls, poorly designed worlds, and atrocious animations, it would seem this title was created with the specific purpose of torturing those who play. [Jan 2002, p.83]
-
Save your money for something less painful, like a bikini wax or unanaesthetized dental surgery.
