Play UKIt's a great game but King of Fighters Neowave needs you to invest in alternative control scheme more than any other PS2 fighter to date. Do that and you've got a brilliant fighting game. [Issue 143, p.96]
-
Sure, a challenge mode, time attack and many more bells and whistles would have been welcome, but like the endless waves of retro compilations out there at the moment, there's something endearingly simple about Neowave that everybody can enjoy.
-
games(TM)An interesting and complete fighter that deserves the attention of anyone who enjoys the delights of two-dimensional fighting. [Sept 2006, p.112]
-
A novel flashback to how things used to be, but one that will make you more grateful than ever that we aren’t at that point in time any more. Dated, jaded and passed it sell by date.
-
It's sad to say that, while King of Fighters: Neowave has plenty of good ideas, it can't stop the game from feeling extremely dated.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKThe 'hardcore' tag can't excuse this. Even fans of King of Fighters will feel short-changed. [Nov 2006, p.68]
-
The point of the fact is that this game is identical to all the other instalments of the series. So, if you already have an older version, keep it, or if you do not have any version and were looking to buy one, forget this latest one, buy an older version and save your pennies.
