This game is pretty cool but, some parts are hard to figure out. Also, the graphics are alot better than I thought they would be.

Awesome game! I love the ride at DL and DW and recognized alot of the scenes from the ride! The movie was stupid luckily nothing from it is in the game. Graphics are excellent! I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves the ride and Disney!

I wasn't expecting much from this game but being a fan of the ride I decided to rent it. 8 hours later I still couldn't put it down!!! I was late for work. I was immediately wrapped into the game's ease of play and the level of authenticuty it offers from the ride. The puzzles are fun and unique and can be very challengin at times! Renting is not enough, I need to awn a copy!

This game is awesome! For fans of the ride, it doesn't get any better. I don't think the Play Magazine guys played the game very long.

If i can compare Disney's The Haunted Mansion with an existing game, that will be Luigi's Mansion... or I can simply describe it as that.
The game was developed by High Voltage Software, a game company that i haven't seen too many games from them... their latest game was Zombieland: Double tap (which was a bad game by the way) but this game is... actually good!!!

Even though this game was released the same year as the Eddie Murphy film back in 2003, the video game is not a direct adaptation from the movie... instead it tells it's own original story inspired on the concept from the Disneyland ride. The story is about a guy named "Ezekiel Halloway" who's new job is to be the keeper of the mansion, he soon discovers that the mansion has been overtaken by a evil entity called "the order of shadows" now... it's up to him to set free the spirits that walk through the corridors from the house.
The game is play as a third person perspective with some shooting elements, the player has on his disposal a lamp that can be used to shoot evil spirits and to capture them as well, as the player progress through the game he will be able to upgrade his lamp with some crystals.
The Haunted Mansion is a really linear game... way too linear, doors will be locked with an spirit count, as the player enters to a different room he will need to capture souls, the more souls you got more doors will be open... but this rooms will be available in order.
Moving to the difficult, even that the player can choose the game's difficult, the overall game in not that hard or challenging, there will be some challenges like 2 that are a bit hard but they won't take too long to complete and they consist on trial and error.
Visually the game looks good and has a unique style that aims more to look like a cartoon but not too much, even for a ps2 the game looks good, the only difference it had between the gamecube and xbox version is that this one has no "dynamic shadows" but overall they look the same.
It's sad this game never got released on PC, but some day if you got the chance to play it... do it, it is a good game and you will enjoy it.

The story is way overdone and weighs down the gameplay..., and convoluted specifics of progression are unnecessary given the game's linear structure. [Nov 2003, p.93]

Has great production values, is "spiritually" faithful to the look and feel of the famed Disney attraction, and is a very good action/puzzler to boot.

It’s very enjoyable the whole way through and the puzzles are extremely well designed and varied, some being simple and some requiring quite a bit of thinking.
