This game is really a hidden gem for any casual gamer. I bought it on clearance and thought it was going to be a joke of a game. It ended up being one of the most whimsically delightful RPGs I have ever played. The game is well put-together. The characters are lovable, the environments are cheerful and colorful, and the storyline is surprisingly engaging. This being my first ever entry into video games, this has a bit of a personal history to me. This was my favorite game as a kid, and it is to this day. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it. Expand

Expand

The Dog Island is a charming adventure so full of puppy cuteness that it would bring a smile to almost anyone's face. But at the $50 price point, you might find that titles like Nintendogs and Animal Crossing prove to be a better investment to keep the kids engaged this winter.

There's nothing here for most gamers, but buy it for younglings with a penchant for canines and they'll be happy for hours. [July 2008, p.78]
