  1. Elite Force had the potential to be not only a really stellar first-person shooter but also a Star Trek title that would surpass all others. Yet its sometimes-sloppy graphics, constant interruptions and substandard enemy AI dull things considerably.

On every level, this is a game destined to appeal to the silent minority who simply can't get enough of the series. If you're a fan, then resistance will be futile. [PSM2]
  3. Technically, everything about this game is average. The graphics are passable, the sound and speech are good (but hardly mind-blowing) and the gameplay is familiar.
  4. Surprisingly compelling story, expectedly terrible gameplay.

Underneath the offensive layer of crap that coats every facet of this version is a more than adequate game desperately trying to get out. [Feb 2002, p.113]

Several generations behind the quality we’re seeing in other PS2 first-person shooters. [Feb 2002, p.85]

Have you ever played a game that was just so horribly bad that you couldn’t help but wonder why the game was ever released in the first place? A game so horrible that it could literally bring a grown man to tears over the amount of frustration and pain that it caused?

Well, this is one of those games. Elite Force is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. And as for you guys obsessed with Well, this is one of those games. Elite Force is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. And as for you guys obsessed with graphics, grow up. Graphics most definantly do NOT make or break a game. Look at Mario. One of the best games ever, and you're a guy made up of about a dozen little squares. True Trek fans won't give a crap if the graphics aren't quite up to par. You're not a guy made of a few little squares, and the graphics aren't that bad. Great story and awesome multiplayer. Expand

I am NOT a Star Trek fan in the slightest.I remember the first time I ever saw this game and did not think I would love it as much as I do. I am NOT a Star Trek fan in the slightest. And yet I LOVE THIS GAME. This game is pure nostalgia and a game which ESPECIALLY if you are a Star Trek fan will fall in love with. And this is coming from a non fan.

The best way I can describe this game really is...it is a bit like Halo but set in the Star Trek universe. By this I mean you get to explore some really great locations (In first person) and follow the story of a group of people from the Voyager known as the Elite Force. What follows is a great time. The levels are very immersive, the weapons are unique and the dialogue is great. You can walk around the voyager and makes you feel like your a part of the crew.

Graphically the game isnt great and I get that but at the same time you gotta remember how old this game is. It came out in 2001! But give it a go and I am sure you will find something here to enjoy!

Let's start with the not-so-good: as far as graphics are concerned, I've seen better. But, then again, I've seen worse. The Let's start with the not-so-good: as far as graphics are concerned, I've seen better. But, then again, I've seen worse. The very-good list is longer: nice level design, high-tech action, all the weapons and a great storyline. Even if you don't really like Star Trek, you've gotta beam up! Expand
