SteveJan 28, 2010Shadow of the Colossus is a masterpiece. The art direction, story, and characters are amazing. This game is the best to be released on any previous generation console.
-
-
DavidD.Oct 8, 2009Desolate environments, difficult and rewarding boss fights mixed with a story that carries itself on emotion with very few words. This game remains the best game ever made, even though the new console generation is already halfway through its lifespan.

HassanH.Apr 30, 2009Everything that an epic adventure needs to be. Memorable enemies, a story that allows the player to use their imagination, tight controls, and one of the most impressive soundtracks of recent note. In short, it's classic.

ChubbyWookieOct 30, 2005This is truly what "next-gen" gaming should have been about. Instead of just making the same old games "prettier", this game creates something that cannot be explained - it simply MUST be experienced. It is without a doubt the greatest game I have ever played - this is the one by which all other games should be judged.

saluddiazOct 18, 2005I had the pleasure to play the demo of this unbelievable game. I did love ICO and I would recommend this game to anyone. I'll go further and say that this game alone justify the purchase of the PS2. Unfortunately I cant find (so far) a game that justify the purchase of xbox 360.

LeoFOct 21, 2005Easily one of the best games I have ever played on any console (and I started with the Atari 2600...) You are NOT a fan of videogames if you don't play this art/game.

kyuudmcDec 10, 2008this isn't a game! its ART! aaah you'll never understand unless you try it out. the game play isn't so challenging but the game feels totally different than any other game ... than ANYTHING actually. the music! the feel .. its just something else. something far different than the games you used to play.

-
SamJ.May 19, 2008A perfect combination of simplicity, art, and game design. Players who see it through maybe scratching their head and wondering what it all means but once you figure it out, the impression is ever lasting.

Jul 30, 2020A PS2 classic in every sense of the word. It may be a game that only focuses on bosses. But that's what makes it super unique and interesting. Fighting these giants while an epic score plays makes this an unforgettable experience. If you missed out on the PS2 port, Then give the PS4 version a go. It's just as amazing.

Feb 24, 2014This is more than a game... it's an artistic masterpiece. The games epicness and beauty is astonishing. It's a perfect balance of adventure, action and puzzle game all in one.

Jul 15, 2012I just have to say. Missredone you must be a fat girl. Or ugly. I DARE you to post a picture of yourself somewhere. Go Barbies dream ride. Figures, coming from a post from 2012. This game was released in 2005. This game was epic for its time and still is. If you dont like it fine. But at least give a legit reason. You wont be able to find one, NO OTHER GAME is like it. That's what makes it epic.
-
May 22, 2011This is the closest gaming has ever come to art EVER! It truly is a beautiful game. If you only like shooting people in the face, this game is not for you, go ahead...give this game a zero. As for everyone else, This game is breath of fresh air, which you will not want to stop breathing. Get the ICO & SoTC combo on the Ps3. Gaming history is not without this game.
-
Sep 19, 2011This game is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Between the majestic scenery and the practically limitless free expanse, there is an almost ethereal presence to its art. It's pure magic.

May 19, 2012This game sets out to do something and does it perfectly. It is risky to cut out what most would consider the game and use only boss fights, but this tactic packs all of the adrenaline, and artistry, into one tight bundle. This is nothing short of perfect, yet it may not have everything some may want in a game.

Aug 23, 2013Shadow of the Colossus might be the best game on the PS2. It's a masterpiece, it defines the PS2. The story is great, the characters are epic and the whole game will just blow your mind.
-
Jan 7, 2014Definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played, without a doubt. The style of the entire game is just breath-taking, I wish I could just stare at the 3rd colossus for a few moments before it attacked.
-

Nov 19, 2010This game changed lives with the deep meaning and sadness put behind it. AMAZING graphics and a story that will break your heart. Exploration is a little annoying at times though. I feel jealous for those who havnt played it. I would give a lot to play it for the first time again.

Feb 24, 2013Great game, challenging bosses especially the one with the colossus that behaves like a rhino that got me over a few times. challenging at first but once you repeat it kinda stinks since you know how to beat them already. but anyways super great game.
-

Sep 23, 2010Maybe you have to look at it differently than I did, but to me this game was nothing more than an above-average puzzle-platformer. I applaud Team ICO for the attempt, but this was hardly as great as everyone makes it out to be.

May 9, 2013Shadow of the Colossus is an epic and powerful game that makes use of great gameplay, outstanding battles, superb sound and a deep and touching story to make your jaw drop. The game surely have its flaws, like the annoying camera, but it stills one of the best adventure games ever made, and if you don't mind the "lack of action", you should totally check it.
-
Oct 16, 2011Not sure what was harder, the bosses or the camera. You have to dance with your fingers to get the angles perfectly or you go falling 50 feet. All you do is fight about a dozen huge monsters, then the game ends. Woopdy doo. Feels more like the world's slowest boss rush mode. V

BorisPJan 5, 2010I agree with Brad B - I've started this game several times, hoping that something new would happen after 1 or 2 colossi, only to remember that there's nothing more to it. A waste of a sleek engine.
