A solid-playing game that simply doesn't look that great.
-
All in all, it's not a bad...catch (ouch).
-
Deep-enough to pass itself as a sim but accessible-enough to be considered arcadey, Bass Fishing Duel manages to walk the fine line between both without alienating either camp.
-
The only groundbreaking things within this title are the mission-based challenges and the multiplayer games. Other than that, there's just not much new here.
-
This is one title most definitely targeted at a very specific niche audience. You know who you are.
-
PSM MagazineIt's not the deepest fishing game, but if you're a serious fan, it's not a bad catch. [Nov 2002, p.54]
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineMakes an obvious effort to up the realism a bit - and the results, while not disastrous, are certainly underwhelming. [Nov 2002, p.190]
-
Its a curious gaming experience, and strangely enjoyable, even if, like us, you havent got even the faintest interest in fishing.
