LiamS.Jan 28, 2004I loved "Defender of the Crown" on my C-64 in the 1980's, but this game is an abomination compared to its noble roots. What boring sequences, and endless repetition. I actually prefer the 1980's model. Not exactly a positive development when we've had 20 or so years since the time of Cinemaware's original release to get this right!

CharlesP.Oct 23, 2003Good game, with one great flaw: something about the control mechanisms for some of the minigames does not jive. I mean, I like aerobic activity like anyone else, but when you find you're breathing hard after a tough battle and your fingers are aching that's not good.

If Capcom's aim was to create a simple turn-based strategy title in the vein of the original Defender of the Crown, it succeeded. There's no doubt about that.

It's a dated PC game ported to a next-gen console instead of a totally revised, retooled product. The folks at Cinemaware may have had their finger on the gaming pulse 20 years ago, but now they're just living in the past.

A trip down memory lane for anyone pining for the original, but without strategic and gameplay enhancements, it's just a poor game by 2003 standards.
