This is one of those rare games that keeps you so involved that hours go by in seemingly minutes.
-
An attractive and faithful-enough experience.
-
Go out and play pool. Some games are meant to be played in real life -- bowling, pinball, and especially pool.
-
Total Video GamesAs for gameplay, the controls are well defined, but it does not give the sense of holding the pool stick. It feels more like you are controlling a science project because of the stiffness, but they are precise.
-
The better money is with "Q-Ball Billiards Master," which is far and away better than this.
-
If playing pool in real life were as awkward and non-intuitive as Real Pool is, then I probably would never play in real life, either!
-
Why should I buy this game for $50 when I can go down the street to a bar and spend the same amount of time for about $49.25 less?
-
Real Pool offers most of the same elements as "Q-Ball Billiards Master," but it goes about it in a bare-bones way.
-
Da GameboyzAs a casual gamer of this type of game I found my attention span wavered. Quite honestly I would much rather go out and play pool in a real hall.
-
It doesn't feel like you're playing pool, and these have got to be the most outdated-looking graphics seen on the PlayStation2.
-
Daily RadarIt's not a horrible game, but the one other pool game available at launch, "Q-Ball: Billiards Master," is just a tad bit better.
-
It's a solid pool simulation and the puzzle mode is quite enjoyable, but it just isn't really worth playing because it has a clumsy and archaic interface and I'd much rather head over to a bar with a pool table and play the real thing.
-
One of the more annoying aspects of Real Pool is the control system, which is extremely unintuitive.
-
I cannot look past the fact that simply playing the game is a chore.
-
Paying full price for "Real Pool" would be an insult to every other good PS2/DC/PSX/N64/GBC title that you haven't played yet.
