The MVP engine still has some competitive advantages, but for the franchise to thrive, a move up to PS3, 360 and Wii is essential. The PS2 edition just feels dated.
-
The gameplay has evolved nicely, but the wrapper that is the rest of the game seems to be wasting away as sloppy rosters and a little change elsewhere is a sign that something major needs to occur next year for the MVP series to rise out of the ashes forming around it.
-
The majority of the game remains largely unchanged. It’s a solid game, but unlike EA’s successful college football game, it doesn’t deliver content that draws you into the experience. It’s great for multiplayer games, but the barebones season does little to keep players glued.
-
MVP 07 NCAA Baseball plays a solid game of baseball...One can't help but be underwhelmed.
-
Due to the game not having sufficient resources, the rosters ended up taking a big hit as none of the players appear to be on the right teams. If we do see a "MVP '08," I do hope that EA does place the passion and resources back into the franchise which plays a fairly great game of baseball.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyA better effort overall, but a few mishaps away from competing with the big leaguers. [Mar 2007, p.92]
-
It's apparent that EA didn't set aside a large budget for the development of this game. College baseball is merely a niche sport in the world of video games, and I have to wonder about EA’s commitment to the series in the long term, especially since it was released for the PS2 only.
-
It's puzzling that the team behind MVP 07 chose to keep these significantly less active, albeit authentic, elements in its game. The result: This is a great game to check your e-mail to...The time waste pushes a nine-inning game into 45-minute territory, when a game could last no more 30 minutes if they scissored out the nonsense.
-
With an MSRP under thirty dollars, MVP NCAA Baseball 07's strengths outweigh its negative points, but players who already own 2006's game shouldn't expect anything more than some new teams, a new pitching interface and related mini-game, and new behind-the-pitcher and batting cameras.

Feb 11, 2023Really good sports game pitching is a bit weird but you get used to it and the hittings has been wonky at times
