Easily the best motorcycle racing game currently available for the PS2 and is probably one of the top 5 games in the entire racing genre at this time. The visuals are nearly flawless and the presentation is network quality.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineThe biggest improvement (for me anyway) is that Namco absolutely nailed it with the controls this time. [Apr 2003, p.90]
-
If you're looking for a definitive motorcycle racing sim, look no further.
-
Challenging, immersive, and highly playable.
-
The improvements do not make for an altogether new game but what is offered here definitely adds to the enjoyment of a truly spectacular motorcycle racing series.
-
It's fast, beautiful, and chock full of modes and options. Get it.
-
Racing fans looking for a new and unique challenge that can be as rewarding as it is deep should give MotoGP3 a try, and players looking for the definitive motorcycling experience for the PlayStation 2 shouldn't bother looking any further.
-
While not substantially different from its predecessors, this third installment adequately sweats the details and dishes up a heaping serving of improvements in the way of four-player multiplayer support, a new Challenge and Legends mode, and 15 new tracks to keep you coming back for more.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyPlays just like Namco's previous two games, with deceptively difficult turns and a great sense of speed. [Apr 2003, p.116]
-
For serious motorcycle-simulation fans only. If youre not interested in the minutiae of the sport, go dust off "Road Rash" and read no further.
-
GMR MagazineThe third incarnation of the gorgeous two-wheeled racer MotoGP 3 marries high-octane speed with improved control, at long last implementing front and rear brakes. [May 2003, p.66]
-
If you have the determination to master the many nuances of motorcycle racing, you'll find that MotoGP3 delivers an exceptionally exhilarating ride. It's a game for enthusiasts, but a great game nonetheless.
-
Features the most dramatic and gameplay-enhancing improvements yet seen in this series.
-
The sequel isnt a major overhaul, but the added tracks and gameplay further enhances an already solid racing series.
-
Without the revamped control, some of you might even forget which version of GP you're playing. MotoGP 3 is all about refinement, which is swell, but how about something a little spicier next time?
-
Bigger and, in many ways, better than previous GPs, but the lack of real depth may leave enthusiasts reaching for the (Riding) spirits. [PSM2]
-
Play MagazineIt feels far too much like "Moto GP2" to be considered worthy. [Apr 2003, p.62]
-
PSM MagazineMotoGP 3's main fault, if you can call it that, is that the game is all too similar to "MotoGP 2." [Apr 2003, p.27]
-
Game InformerA true career mode is needed to help flesh this collection of tracks out. [Apr 2003, p.85]
-
Sadly, your competitors behave like drones, slaves to the racing line. When a rider glances over at you, your presence has not really been registered.
