The San Francisco Rush: The Rock and Hydro Thunder ports are still timeless and fun, but it's Rush 2049 that will keep you coming back to this compilation.

Of all three Midway Arcade Treasures games, this is the one that probably has the most amount of games you won't want to play for any length of time.

Boils down to this: if you like Midways racing games, you're going to really enjoy this. If you're not a big fan of racing games or Midway, this probably isn't even going to grab your attention.

You’re not really going to find the arcade experience here, nor are you going to find the full presentation that you may remember putting quarters in so many years ago.

So many of the games included here relied so heavily on custom arcade hardware that they lose much of their appeal in the translation.

TotalGames.netRace Drivin' was one of the earliest 'real' driving simulators but doesn't remotely stand the test of time. It's deadly slow and bereft of any excitement whatsoever. Unfortunately this describes most of the games on this disc.

There are much better retro compilations available - not least the first two incarnations of Midway Arcade Treasures, which both feature some all-time classics.

The venerability of these selections combined with the substandard interface (exiting out of a given game is performed inconsistently and tends to be very confusing) and paltry selection of titles makes this one you can skip over without losing any sleep.

We can’t stress how much fun we had with Super Off Road. It truly is one of the more timeless arcade racing games.

Okay, so there's two-minutes worth of multiplayer chuckles in "Badlands" and "Super Off-Road," and "Hydro Racer" is marginally better than the terrible "Stun Runner," but that's it. [PSW]
