Good, clean fun. A solid concept, great execution and a ton of reasons to play again and again mean that this is a title that no PS2 owner could easily pass up.
-
An extensive multiplayer mode, a track editor and the ability to trade vehicles online ensure almost infinite longevity and top off a title which is a micro masterpiece in its own right.
-
When it's all said and done, Micro Machines V4 proves to be a wonderfully addicting and simple game wrapped in a quaint little package.
-
So ignore the significantly-improved-yet-still--not-quit-brilliant single-player mode and bear in mind that this is a game that demands at least two people of roughly equal ability, preferably more.
-
AceGamezI thoroughly enjoyed Micro Machines V4, probably because of the heavy dosage of nostalgia that it administered to me, but also because the developers obeyed the golden rule of retro game reiteration: provide the gamer with a modern day standard game whilst maintaining the elements they loved from the original, something that is not at all easy to do.

Play UKMicro Machines V4 is bloody brilliant. That's all you really need to know. [Issue 142, p.102]
-
Game InformerThe graphics aren't much either, but the tracks are well designed and there's a genuine sense of fun here. [Aug 2006, p.85]
