Mega Man X Collection

It's a shame that there aren't as many games on this compilation as there were on the Anniversary Collection ("Mega Man Soccer" really should've been included), but you're still getting some fun games (expect, of course, "Mega Man X6").

The original Mega Man X is my second favorite game in the series, though it is easily one of the most carefully polished and well put together games in the series.

Even though the later Mega Man titles are not as good as the first few, it is still a very incredible collection of Mega Man X games in one nice little package.

As a compilation, this is a nicely rounded collection of classic games, presented flawlessly and filled with just enough bonuses to satisfy the hardcore fans. Not all the games are great, but the total package is well worth the price.

In the grand scheme of things, this collection of X is quite good, though I prefer the original series for its curtailed story and straightforward gameplay.

Mega Man X Collection follows the same basic formula as Capcom's excellent first Mega Man compilation, but it just doesn't have quite as much to offer.

The gameplay, while great, is not exciting by today’s standards and the graphics and sound, while fantastic fun, are not going to break any ground.

While its overall game quality and list of extras isn't nearly as consistent or flashy as its Mega Man cousin, there's still a lot to like... especially at the reasonable price of less than thirty bucks.

Unless you really, really like the franchise, this collection will do nothing whatsoever for you -- it's six largely identical games of varying quality. For those who can't get enough of that robo-rock/paper/scissors action, the exceptional quality of these ports (and the promise of a "new" spin-off) should be more than enough to offset the repetition.

Collections such as these should serve as a punctuation mark on the series, and as such should come packed full of extras so that even those fans who already own the included games individually will feel enticed to return to the checkout counter. That isn't the case here.

Capcom compiled their best X adventures into one disc, and it's a sweet deal for fan wanting to relive those classic Mega Man moments.

A great game for what it is – a handful of titles, some of which are over a decade old. By today’s high standards for graphics, content, and storyline it falls far short.

Enjoyment of the X Collection will hinge on whether you enjoyed these games in the first place, because there isn't much content to be found aside from art galleries. But fans of the series and those who like the sort of action Mega Man provides will be very happy.

While the "Mega Man Anniversary Collection" contained more meat, there's simply a ton of robots to blast, dozens of armor capsules to grab, and really no good reason not to let ol' Blue back in your life once again.

A respectable compilation of the blue bomber's other adventures, though it pales a bit in comparison to the Anniversary Collection released a couple of years back.

You have to be a huge Mega Man nut if you want to get these games--especially since many of them are newer than the games released in the original Mega Man collection, meaning that all-important element of nostalgia just isn't quite there.
