The area where the gameplay lacks is the variety on moves, combos, and just providing ways to keep gamers interested after the smoke and mirrors of the visuals wear off.
-
The story mode is boring and full of repetition, the controls are overly simplistic.
-
BoomtownIt’s the very definition of [average], with so-so graphics and sound, mindless, repetitive action and nothing to get even vaguely excited about.
-
It's a schizophrenic game that tests poorly as both a brawler and a fighter. 80 percent of the game is too easy, and the balance is cheap and simply not fun.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineEven worse, it doesn't do the stuff you've seen before with much panache. It's not comic - it's tragic. [Nov 2005, p.90]
-
This is a superhero game that actually makes you hate the superhero you're playing as for their rubbish attacking skills, poor movement and general refusal to do what they're told.
-

games(TM)An odd visual style tops off a very poor title in a suitably poor manner, jumping between looking halfway decent and just plain nasty. An unbalanced and sorely broken mess. [Dec 2005, p.106]
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKWith its horrible looks, non-existent gameplay and shallow controls, every possible effort should be made to avoid this. [Dec 2005, p.111]
