    Now onto the review. This game is amazing. I had waited what felt like an eternity to see the next chapter in this amazing series. The game play was more fluid, the drive forms added a nice new aspect to it. The reaction commands made for eye candy visual attacks. The major bosses like ORG13, Sephiroth and Lingering Will presented great challenges. What's such a nice little Easter egg to these games is how so much is made clear in future titles and you slowly realise that the entire story has been planned out ahead. Even this game had references to Dream Drop Distance. A game that wasn't even announced until 6 years later. It's the little touches like this along captivating story unveiling before you that makes this game great... And with the many moments to tug on heart strings too it's a brilliant sequel to one of the best games ever made.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece that I grew up playing. The combination of gameplay, story, visuals and everything else is just great, and perfectly done. Easily my favorite Kingom Hearts game alongside Birth By Sleep.

    An excellent sequel, it is also on my list of the best games ever. The story was amazing as were the characters. The worlds are bigger and better. The game features many talented voice actors and actresses.

    Best game ever. Seriously, no contest. I've been playing games for over a decade now and this one still manages to be my absolute favorite. It's aged well not just from a graphical perspective but also from a gameplay perspective.

    It's amazing how much you can evolve a game, How much they improved to combat is spectacular that first game still has it been up points like exploring and how did game play can't feel sometimes but is a big improvement, this is an important game for me one of the first game I completed and I love it very dearly

    Kingdom Hearts 2 in my opinion is one of the best games ever made. I grew up playing the game, and can safely say that it is, and always will be, one of my favorite video games of all time. From the well made cut scenes, to the wonderful plot. (which I will admit may get a little confusing at times), I love this game and if you do end up trying it out, I recommend playing Kingdom HeartsKingdom Hearts 2 in my opinion is one of the best games ever made. (which I will admit may get a little confusing at times), I love this game and if you do end up trying it out, I recommend playing Kingdom Hearts 1, and re-chain of memories first.     I’m currently playing this game for the 4th time. This game holds a special place in my heart and I will always remember the first time I played it. There is magic to this game that I just cannot explain. It has that old school Disney feeling. Magic….. The sprinkles of Final Fantasy is wonderful and is what was missing from KH3. I play this game on Proud mode because it’s not a buttonI’m currently playing this game for the 4th time.     The game of my childhood, I can't really say anything wrong about it! It just took everything good from the first game and made it perfect, and it also took all the bad thinks of the original game and made them fun... FUN! It has been my favourite game for years, and it still remains as one of my top 5 favourite games of all time!

    This game is a polished, fun, fluid and quite possibly one of the greatest games of all time. While the story can get convoluted at points, this story still holds true to is numbered predecessor KHI. The battle system is truly a thing to behold.     Today's my birthday and Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of the best games I've ever played. And also the Kingdom Hearts franchise is very much both important and changed my overall life and a franchise I cherish so deeply in my heart, regardless of how confusing it is, so that why I'm reviewing this game.
    DISCLAIMER: I've played Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix (on HD 2.5 Remix (for PS3)) and not the original one, but it's the same game, right? (Also before I wrote this review, I've only played Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 Remix)

    Let's start off with the game-play, the game-play is similar from the first Kingdom Hearts, but they improved it greatly. They fixed the camera problems from the previous Kingdom Hearts game, and now the camera controls won't be annoying anymore.
    The story is overall great, especially the beginning of the game, it's fantastic. It's surprising that the beginning of the game is fantastic. There are four difficulties, Beginner, Standard, Proud and Critical. I've played it on proud mode, and it's seriously difficult. The bosses are very challenging and sometimes you have to learn and adapt their move-set to be able to dodge their attacks for a better chance of survival and it takes a lot of perseverance, patience, and endurance to get through the hardest of story boss battles and post-game boss battles.
    Kingdom Hearts 2 contains a cast of very likable characters (included with Final Fantasy characters) with a great emotional story.

    I recommend playing Kingdom Hearts 2 on Proud Mode. If this is your first Kingdom Hearts game or you think you're not perfect at the game-play then choose Standard Mode! I also recommend playing the first Kingdom Hearts game. Also, I recommend Kingdom Hearts Chain (or Re: Chain) of Memories. (You have the choice of playing Kingdom Hearts COM (RE: COM) if you want to.) This game is really great and it's a recommended JRPG to play. So, I give a score of 9.8. [10]    … Expand

    This game is absolutely captivating, a big step up from kingdom hearts I. Everyone is older, the story takes many twists and turns that leave you guessing and wanting to know more. Overall, the gameplay is great, the keyblade forms are fun and look sick, tons of fun bosses and mechanics to figure out. The story is great and is weaved into the game beautifully with unique worlds likeThis game is absolutely captivating, a big step up from kingdom hearts I. Everyone is older, the story takes many twists and turns that leave you guessing and wanting to know more. Overall, the gameplay is great, the keyblade forms are fun and look sick, tons of fun bosses and mechanics to figure out.     one of the best games I played, I got the Final Mix version that improved many things in relation to the PS2, but that I want to come here to give my rating to her.
    Much superior to the first in all aspects: History, gameplay, graphics, longevity and the main thing, fun!
    I had fun, got emotional, had some laughs with silly moments, it's a great game.

    PS4 version here. This game is a huge step up from Kingdom Hearts 1. They improved everything including combat, story and characters. Took me about 40h. I only did the main story plus several side quests, but I'm very far from full completion (and will not do it).

This game has everything from compelling gameplay to a great story. This game is such a breath of fresh air after the atrocity that is Chain of Memories, **** that game.

    Some bosses are surprisingly difficult(Like Roxas)and the soundtrack is very good.

Is a shame that some people don’t try this game for the existence of Disney’s characters, with the idea “this is for kids”. I can tell, in some points you can see of course kids contents (Yeah, it is Disney) but the story so far is damn complicate, and 15 years later I can’t completelyEven now in 2020 this game looks amazing, a really masterpiece in all ways: plot, graphics, gameplay.     I'll say this with all of my heart. Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best game through it's 20+ year history! The combat, the music, the characters, the story. Holy moly it's so good. The game is so good that I've played it twice on a harder difficulty.

    If you have a PS2 around your own home, go get it and play Kingdom Hearts 2.

Amazing graphics heart warming story fun battles and mini games. My newer favorite characters added in 2 are Roxas and axle. Every single thing in this game (besides atlantica) is absolutely phenomenal, from the music to the gameplay, to the cringed childish story. I don’t care, but this is my favorite game of all time.

    Awsome game. My favourite. Plot is so thrilling! Gameplay is fixed (I didin't like gameplay of KH1 or Chain of Memories). All Disney worlds are so cool and so big. I had play this game three times. Once the original one on PS2, once the Final Mix on PS2 and once the Final Mix on PS4.

    The game is being remastered for current gen systems like PS4 or Xbox one where it runs in smooth 60 fps which makes the experience even better. If you want to understand the story though, I would recommend to    Kingdom Hearts 2 is a well crafted game and in my opinion one of the best action rpg's to date. If you like Action RPG's, Disney or Anime, I really recommend to give it a shot.

    The game is being remastered for current gen systems like PS4 or Xbox one where it runs in smooth 60 fps which makes the experience even better.

    If you want to understand the story though, I would recommend to play Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories first. Your best place is the game "Kingdom Hearts: The Story so Far" which includes the whole franchise except Kingdom Hearts 3.    … Expand

The soundtrack is the greatest in any video game ever (in my opinion) and the story is so sweet, well paced, and good, that the ending made me cry. Thats not even including all the bonus stuff that came in the final mix version. 13 new bosses with new moves, attacks, and phases along with a really long dungeon that takes advantage of all of sora's moves brilliantly and all the disney character summons and limits fit each character perfectly. If you havent already buy this game NOW. You will not regret it. (also the ps4 collection this game comes in is only like 30 bucks and it has 5 more games seperate from this game so buy that collection and play this game there you will not regret it)… Expand

    This is, in my opinion, the BEST KINGDOM HEARTS GAME ever, the characters are very well made, the combat system works amazingly , and the cutscenes and story gets more open (and sometimes confusing) for the kingdom hearts saga, and it has in my opinion, one of the best villains on a videogame, Organization XIII, because every character has it's own personality and attacks. This game is unique.

    O jogo por si carrega a atmosfera ambígua de duvida e conforto, duvida pelas questões levantadas no final de KH1 e pelas migalhas deixadas durante o começo com Roxas. E conforto em relação a como a história se encaixa perfeitamente com os personagens e suas amizades e universos. A trilha sonora nos coloca o tempo todo dentro de uma grande fantasia que é os Universos Cinematográficos daO jogo por si carrega a atmosfera ambígua de duvida e conforto, duvida pelas questões levantadas no final de KH1 e pelas migalhas deixadas durante o começo com Roxas. E conforto em relação a como a história se encaixa perfeitamente com os personagens e suas amizades e universos. A trilha sonora nos coloca o tempo todo dentro de uma grande fantasia que é os Universos Cinematográficos da Disney, ela nos transfere tudo o que os personagens estão sentindo antes mesmo alguém introduzir o contexto. Todos os temas são muito bem trabalhados, deixando o texto leve porém dando sua devida ênfase os pontos críticos de animação e luta. The Disney worlds have lost the incessant platforming and exploration of the first game and now retain a more simple layout but now features a mandatory second visit after the midpoint of the game. The Disney bosses in the game are also vast improvement on top of introducing live-action worlds into the series such as Tron and Pirates of the Caribbean. The various minigames throughout the game are also vast improvements from the first and Coliseum now returns in the form of the Underdrome and Hades Paradox Cups, which also blow the ones from Kingdom Hearts out of the water. In conclusion, Kingdom Hearts II is still holds the title of the best game in the series and a genuine masterpiece of the 2000’s. It is by far the best licensed video game ever made.… Expand

    Perfect sequel to the first chapter, it does not only build a great story with some good twists, but the gameplay is so good and so much better than kh1, after so many years it is still very funny and so much responsive. An absolutely must for everyone who played the first chapter!

    Kingdom Hearts 2 may very well be one of if not the best game of all time. The story is infinitely better than the first, and same goes for the gameplay. One would be unable to revisit the original after playing this. The storytelling is amazing in the way that everything is explained by the ending, and everything is wrapped up in a perfect bow. This game is true greatness.

Jack Sparrow's running), and some of the facial animations (particularily the mouth movements) are choppy and awkward, and star to take away from the overall immersion factor after a while. and while the game does have an E10+ rating, the drifting difficulty and some of the storyline's concepts will probably make this game appeal more to teen audiences more than anything else. but the game is fun (and surprisingly addicting), and the new Drive feature is sweet (two keyblades, who can ask for more?). some of the worlds are down-right spectacular (special kudos to SquareEnix for the Tron world), and there are tons of side-stuffs to do. a definite buy. overall 9.2 out of 10.… Expand

    I would have liked a more challenging game, with larger worlds. I feel like all of the worlds are no more than three or four rooms. Other than that, it is an amazing, story driven game that I will love forever.

When playing it, it's impossible not to compare it to the original Kingdom Hearts game. The gameplay is far too easy, even on Proud mode (the most difficult setting), mainly due to the enemies This game almost blew my mind. When playing it, it's impossible not to compare it to the original Kingdom Hearts game. The gameplay is far too easy, even on Proud mode (the most difficult setting), mainly due to the enemies seemingly never attacking you, or at least not as much as they did in the first game. This means most battles are over very quickly. Some of the boss fights are a little underwhelming, especially Shan Yu, Hades, Cerberus, Luxord and the bosses of Argabah. However, most of them are as fun as the first game, most of the Organization fights are great, Barbossa, Oogie Boogie, the Pride Lands fights, are all great. The only world I have a problem with is Atlantica - I'd much rather have had a world like the one in Kingdom Hearts than the whole pushing-buttons-in-time-to-the-beat musical. Another minus is that the story seems to have lost some of the epic scope that was present in the original KH, it feels as though it's lost some of it's heart. The exploration part of the game has been dumbed down greatly - the chests are so easy to get to they're literally right in front of you the whole way through the game, there's no secret areas or bosses besides Sephiroth, no objects to find such as the Dalmations. Basically, it's good for a couple of play throughs, but you won't find much to do after that. There's some quests that will take up your time but 90% of them are easily done on the first time. However, I like the new synthesis system, which is something that will keep you busy for a bit. And I love the new worlds included based on live-action Disney films. If you're a fan it's definitely worth playing as it's an addictive experience, but if you're new to the series, I wouldn't play this one first.… Expand

    Though seemingly underated in the terms of popularity within a RPG franchise, this blend of Final Fantasy/Etc vs. the Disney Universe provides a unique expierience within examples of intense fights, complex but intriguing storyline, and a total sense of difficulty within simplicity that allows for some of the best gameplay I have ever expierienced. Literally a standout title among others.

But I still enjoyed the plot without playing that game so I don't think it's really that much of a problem.… Expand

    It was extremely enjoyable with a great combat system in it. The biggest problem I had with the game was probably the Little Mermaid level. It was atrocious. I know they are with disney, but they made Micky BA, why couldn't they do that with that level?

I can see how good it is because what I see is Square trying something new so it is supposed to be slightly easier, and if you want it to be harder play on the harder difficulties but either way I still had to use the square button still when I face bosses more than when I pressed the triangle.     By far my favourite Kingdom Hearts game to date. I love the new characters and the fact that the old characters have aged helps give this game a more mature atmosphere than the one before it. The soundtrack is my favourite of any video game, ever.

    This is a much better game than the original in terms of gameplay I like that it was easier to follow as in the first game I got lost a couple of times and needed a guide to progress in the story. The only bad thing was the need to use a new mechanic to gain abilities. All in all, this is an excellent sequel that years later is still fun to play.

The mix between Final Fantasy and Disney created a child thatKingdom Hearts is the pinnacle of action RPG games. This game defines the idea of a perfect sequel.Graphics are vastly improved, the drive system is a welcome addition and everything from the way you acquire skills, to the diverse cast of characters that partner with you is essential to creating this fundamentally perfect game. The mix between Final Fantasy and Disney created a child that exceeded the expectations of myself, and many other Rpg fans. The soundtrack is by far one of the best of all time. Almost everything about Kingdom Hearts 2 is wonderful, however, the introduction of the game where players play as Roxas is far too long of introduction before playing as Sora and is disappointing. and this game deserves to be considered one of the best even after more than 10 years.… Expand

    From the amazing opening cg cinema (oh god, I think I just soiled myself it was so good) with Utada Hikaru's newest song, Passion, to the kick ass ending, this game rocked and set itself a more than worthy successor to the first Kingdom Hearts. [JPN Import]

    It has an excellent battle system, more variety than almost any game out there, great graphics, and an interesting story. The title isn't perfect though. The story lacks a bit of cohesiveness and the auto-camera still can't seem to track everything that's going on. [JPN Import]
