Basically a shooter, it get's really boring. There are long tedious missions that I found no fun playing in. Graphics are okay I guess, nothing extraordinary.

With Iron Man being a smash hit in theaters, a video game tie-in starring the Marvel hero is only natural. Most of the time, movie tie-in games are pretty lame and generic, and made only to cash-in on the film. Iron Man is no different, as you play as 'ol shellhead and fly around and take down baddies. What really kills Iron Man is that the game is so monotonous and boring. You basically do the same thing over and over again, and it isn't long before you discover just how tedious the game really is. If you manage to overcome all that, you'll find that the game is on the short side, and pretty much a breeze to get through. There are some good points to mention though, including the fact that film stars Robert Downey Jr. and Terrance Howard provide their voices for the game, and there are extra armors to find and unlock. The moments of flying around are kind of fun too, but there isn't enough here to hold your interest. All in all, the Iron Man game may be worth a look for fans of the comic or film, but in the end, we just have another lame cash-in attempt. Expand

Iron Man for the PS2 is just okay. It's basically a shooter and is quite short. In each mission, you fly or hover around while blasting enemies. Completing side-objectives unlocks bonus comic-book skins. While based on the movie, the game adds villains not seen in the film. The cutscenes are okay, but the voice acting by Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow is quite flat. On the plusIron Man for the PS2 is just okay. It's basically a shooter and is quite short. The boss fights are underwhelming. Overall, this can be a repetitive action game that's moderately fun. I would rate it with a 5.4 out of 10. Expand

For a video-game about a movie this is actually pretty cool, loved playing with the first armor of the film.

The levels are linear, the visuals are ho-hum, the story is lame and the cutscenes are bad. This game doesn't excel at anything.

I hesitate to say that Iron Man is dumbed down for the Wii, PlayStation 2, and PSP, since hardware limitations likely necessitated such a distinct iteration, but the resulting experience is a by-the-numbers affair unlikely to rouse most action fans.
  3. Iron Man just can't seem to get the lead out. Now let's end this article with another quote from the song: "Nobody wants him. They just turn their heads."
