    This game was very well designed. The story was compelling and I enjoyed playing this game. The best game on the PlayStation 2 in my opinion. The sound effects were awesome, the different fights were designed masterfully and always kept me guessing. Overall, had a good time.

    First off God of War 2 is way too short. the game takes about 8 hours to beat and is fun for the first 30 minutes. The game centers around Kratos the new god of war and his revenge plan to kill Zeus because he got tricked. Kratos is a moron because the gods are his family so he ends up killing his whole family again. The combat and moves are flashy and repetitive, the magic in this game isFirst off God of War 2 is way too short. the game takes about 8 hours to beat and is fun for the first 30 minutes.     A great sequel, better than the original. The combat system is still a great button masher. One guy said prince of persia has a bad combat system and devil may cry is retarded... Well, prince of persia warrior within has a very good combat system (not as good as god of war's though) and devil may cry 3 has the best combat system I've ever seen, it's like the best hack'n'slash game.     god of war II is a true masterpiece and a perfect example of a good sequel. It improves upon its predecessor in every way imaginable and proves a stellar experience which is remembered for years to come.

    This is what a sequel should be, bigger and better than the original in every way possible, the set pieces are epic, the story is interesting, the combat is once again flawless, the boss fights are more epic in scale, and the graphics are AMAZING!!! I'm amazed the PS2 is capable of these amazing visuals, the sound is just as good as the original, this game once again makes you feel like aThis is what a sequel should be, bigger and better than the original in every way possible, the set pieces are epic, the story is interesting, the combat is once again flawless, the boss fights are more epic in scale, and the graphics are AMAZING!!! I'm amazed the PS2 is capable of these amazing visuals, the sound is just as good as the original, this game once again makes you feel like a bad ass, my only complaint and the only thing keeping this from a perfect 10, is that it slows down the epic moments for a little while near the end of the game, but picks up the pace to awesome again later, but if you like the first one, you'll love this, it's better in every way.… Expand

    a fantasy made real. Best game on the console,it's a game the makes the ps2 proud in every way. With breath taking graphics,awesome boss battle and a combat system to die for it's definitely a 10/10

    10/10 = Masterpiece = One of the greatest action games of all-time. This game is pure genius. Six words "Epic Sky Battle With Flying Pegasus"!!

    Some of the artwork in God of War II is utterly breathtaking, showcasing the true limit of the PS2's graphical capabilities. Boss fights are reminiscent of old Nintendo games such as Jet Force Gemini and Zelda: OoT. A spectacular sequel in terms of storyline (a rarity of any medium) and gameplay.

    This game is truly a great game. The Puzzles are a bit annoying but in all its a great puzzle experience. The combat on the other hand is outradeous i love the cenematic gameplay it produces and the boss fights are crazy. A ten all the way.

    Id rate this an 8.5, and the first one 9. I enjoyed the game very much, and they improved quite a few things from the last, such as the graphics, music, level design, gameplay, etc. My only real gripes are some of the puzzles feel a bit counter intuitive, sometimes being a bit annoying. Most of them weren't very hard, but things like respawning enemies while turning a crank got a bit Id rate this an 8.5, and the first one 9. Enemies spawn around you and beat you while youre trying to push the motherfucking block. You slide two steps back.     This is the best game I've EVER played.actually I think it's literally legendary!the puzzles,the combat system,the graphics,everything would get you attached to your seat playing from the first to the last moment of the game,I don't think it deserves anything less than a perfect 10!!

    Best game I ever played on the PS2 -the graphics and sound design are such high quality, it sometimes seems its being played on a PS3. The way the viewpoint changes is really cinematic, and I think the difficulty levels in normal mode are just right. Great tribute to Greek Mythology. Excellent game.

    This is one of the most epic games you will play, not only on the PS2, but on any console. It pushs the PS2 beyond its known limits and the gameplay is some, if not,the best in its genre.
    This one game that will leave an impession. Bring on God Of War III.

    Horrible Game. The first one was very good and i thought that the First God Of War was a blatant rip off or Legendary Games like Ninja Gaiden, Prince Of Persia(1989) and Devil May Cry. But GOW II goes a step ahead. Same moves. Graphics are better. More ripping off of poor games like Legacy Of Kain. The Box Puzzle especially TICKED me off as it was a straight lift from their previous game. Horrible Game.     Wow. It's almost three years into the xbox 360 and two years for the ps3 and wii, all of which I own. And now, I've just got around to playing god of war 2 for the ps2. And I'm blown away. THe graphics are good enough (amazing for the ps2), that they don't get blown away by the newer generation machines. (Obviously, not as good, but still a beautiful game.) But theWow.     God of War II improved on the original in every way possible the characters, weapons, powers, moveset, enemies, bosses, and locations are all bigger and badder then the last. The only flaws with the game in my eyes was that the storyline didn't feel as epic as the first and it's realy just more of the same but that's being nitpicky.

Still a linear action game, not truly an adventure game like Castlevania/Metroid. You can fully power up weapons which was a problem in the first game. Enemy bosses and levels are more memorable and interesting. Not sure why this one doesn't get higher marks Much better than the first game! Graphics were truly impressive.     This was an alright sequel but you should still rent it. The original was better but this is also one of the best games on the PS2. With additional secrets and extras (sorry, won't spoil for future buyers!) this sequel definitely ups the original in this category. Worth a weekend rent.

    ... man ... this game is terrible if your not into watching blood and nudity becuase you have a life or if u want violence make it ... better it was terrible but the saving grace? ripping iccarusses wings off ... haha he sux but if ur into it then an amazing game with an indepth story line you dont get lost in ... next step make is sandbox style

    This waited game impressed me since its outstanding presentation. Game Mechanics are solid and control is fluid. I haven't played the first game yet.

    i love this game. Have beat it ont normal and hard. am currently trying titan.I have NEVER tried to beat a game 3 times.Controls feel so good, however right now i cannot get past the monitors at theous (or whatever his name is). never played gow 1 and never want to.

Why th 9? just 2 gripes: 1, I loved the first on because it was about 70% battle, 30% puzzles. This on was more like 50-50 during most of the game, and 70% puzzles and 30% battle during the last quarter which in my opinion, ruined it a little. I One of the best games ever. A worthy sequel.     Best game ever. There is so much action! The weapons are my favorite! Only one bad thing There are invisible walls everywhere! But, other than that is is awsome. easily my favorite game series.

    Let me start by saying that I LOVED the original. Every bit, and I didnt even have to check the internet once to get a clue. I found that God of War 2 had far too many obscure puzzles, and at some points even on normal difficulty was frustrating enough to throw your controller across the room. I got almost to the end, where you climb a rope across lava and the bad guys shoot it down. then Let me start by saying that I LOVED the original. Every bit, and I didnt even have to check the internet once to get a clue. I got almost to the end, where you climb a rope across lava and the bad guys shoot it down. then you climb up and have to fight about 10 medusas in a row( I should mention you have already used all of your magic in the previous endeavor, the rotating spike wheel while guys are trying to kill you.) All in all, the god of war series is awesome but I felt that the last half of this one was just too hard for people who arent necessarily video game freaks.… Expand

Such grand journeys into the unknown are rare to find these days, while games, and films, portray modern day, or sci fi, affairs, God Of War brings the great Myths of Old to life In what must be one of the greatest VIdeo Games Ever made. Edge Magazine gave this 7/10!! Well screw them, they have overly high standards, and are way too precise on all technical features of games and not what makes the game a memorable experience. Actually that still should have garnered this full marks. Kratos laughs at all that disbelieve the glory of this game, and I laugh too, Climb out of your holes and find in you the imagination that can truly appreciate what this is doing Phenomenal.… Expand

    There are a few brilliant core improvements, such as the beautifully implemented grappling system that lets you swing around with your blades. But for the most part, the game's best features are context-specific things rather than features that change or improve the title as a whole...A stellar example of what can be done when a developer focuses on telling a story and lets that drive the game.
