As the brothers are unveiling the secrets of a cult called Leto, they are attacked by shadowy creatures from the unknown. Meanwhile, a frightening phenomenon is sweeping the country; people in many regions are vanishing without a trace. In Resembool, Edward and Alphonse meet an enigmatic alchemist. It seems that he has some connection with both the disappearances and the strange creatures encountered earlier. When Colonel Mustang sends the brothers to investigate a village plagued by these monsters, they meet Arlen, an archaeologist who is studying the ancient civilization of Lebis. Edward and Alphonse soon find themselves headed for the ruins of Siam-Sid, the capital city of Lebis, to discover the truth behind the monstrous creatures and the puzzling disappearances. Expand

  1. Extremely fun to play with fast-paced fights and a great combo system that puts the first game to shame. This latest installment is a huge step in the right direction for the series.
  2. Curse of the Crimson Elixir, despite being ridiculously short and a bit too easy for advanced gamers, delivers a fun, beautiful and enthralling story experience that puts its anime license to perfect use.
  3. It's not without flaws, and it's fairly short to boot, but if you're a fan of both the Elric brothers and over-the-top transmutations, you'll find lots to like here.
  4. Even though Full Metal Alchemist 2: Akaki Elixir no Akuma is more of the same it has some improvements over the original. If you loved the original title or the anime than the sequel should please you. Otherwise you probably want to try before you buy because Full Metal Alchemist 2 isn't a hallmark action RPG.
  5. It's entertaining enough, even for those who aren't major followers of the show, but despite all it has going for it, the short length and repetitive gameplay keep Fullmetal Alchemist 2 from being anything more noteworthy than a weekend rental.

Everything feels less sluggish - including the combat, which integrates the alchemy better than before. Plus, the graphics got a bit of an upgrade, too. [Oct 2005, p.94]

Falls into the same sequel trap that many other games tumble into, where the emphasis in development is placed more on improving visual aspects rather than addressing flaws in the gameplay.

Non canon to the 2003 anime, but it’s entertaining. If you like kingdom heart’s gameplay you most likely will enjoy this. The originalNon canon to the 2003 anime, but it’s entertaining. I like FMA but if your over the age of 10 you will hate this game. The most annoying things are: -every 1 min of gameplay=1 min of load time . The loadtime between sections isnt bad but there are a LOT of sections. -EXTEMELY LONG DIALOGUE!!! This wouldn't be bad by itself, except for... -No way to fast forward past dialogue sections, and... -The game has the voices of the characters from FMA read the dialogue but afterEVERY SINGLE SENTENCE you have to press a button to continue the dialogue...WTF?! I can understand the game being designed like that if there weren't voices reading out the dialogue but its so beyond incredibly annoying ( I'm only to chapter 4 and I think there has been about 1 hr of dialogue, compared to 45 min of playing. Imagine that another way. It takes the character about 10 seconds on avg to say their lines. Then a button. 10 more sec of dialogue, then a button. Pretty annoying after a while. If it wasn't the dialogue problems, I would have given this game a 8 out of 10. I should give it a 2 since there are 4 idiots who gave it a 10. I feel bad for my girl since she bought this for me as a christmas gift, but I'm pretty inclined to just return this junk and say I never opened it Expand
