Daily RadarFIFA 2001 may not be revolutionary in gameplay or depth like Madden, but it's revolutionary in terms of graphics -- and it brings home the ultimate vision of soccer game creators better than any game before it.
-
If you like soccer games, and are fortunate enough to have a PS2, you NEED this game. As far as the imperfections of the game, let's face it - EA needs to give you a reason to buy Fifa 2002, right?!
-
FIFA not only sports fantastic controls, but beauty to go along with it's other two outings ("Madden" and "NHL"). Is it just as good as the other two? You betcha!
-
While FIFA 2001 is hardly perfect, its still the best soccer (excuse me: football) game to date for any of the "next generation" systems.
-
Hands down (pun intended) the benchmark for football games.
-
You'll be hard-pressed to score more than a couple goals. But that just mirrors real life, and the action delivers plenty of thrills.
-
The audio is equally impressive, with noisy spectators (local chants, cheers and boos), color commentary by announcers John Motson and Mark Lawrenson, and music written and performed by none other than electronica superstar Moby.
-
The graphics are great, the sound is great, the animation is great, the gameplay is great, and the whole package is just freakin' great.
-
Not only looks amazing, but it plays an excellent game of the sport as well.
-
FIFA 2001 isn't flawless, but the game is extremely well rounded and it excels in every category.
-
All it needs for 2002 is the ability to start a riot and you wont be able to tell it from the real thing.
-
It's pure FIFA, American style the way I've come to know and love it. Go Burn!
-
Delivers impressive graphics, audio, and smooth gameplay, but doesn't provide the same depth of gameplay as many other EA Sports titles. For the casual sports gamer, FIFA may be an entertaining, enjoyable title, but hard-core soccer fans could be left wanting more.
-
The game is very realistic, keeping scoring down, but lost is some of the fun that comes from chaos in front of the net.
-
More like the well-refined older brother of the entire franchise rather than a fledging title on a new system.
-
Spank!Fifa has got all the right connections while "ISS" is much better qualified to do its job.
-
Games RadarThe best thing you can do if you want a fantastic footy game on your new PS2 is to find a copy of PSone's "ISS Pro Evolution." It'll be half the price, but twice as much fun.
-
Boy, am I a sucker! Not only is Fifa 2001 for the PS2 actually worse than the PC version, it's a complete bastardization of the Beautiful Game and one of the most shallow and boring games I have ever played.
