PSM MagazineStill one of the most rewarding racers out there. Stick with it long enough and you'll be glad that you did. [Nov 2002, p.50]
-
The visuals are top notch all of the effects look great, even down to the muffler stutter when throttling up.
-
Play MagazineCaptures the feeling of driving a car like no other game on the planet. The physics model is so highly developed and tuned that it actually makes this bare-bones game very engaging. [Oct 2002, p.83]
-
You must like that individual car an awful lot; you have to like only two viewpoints, bad music, and less than forgiving AI. And you have to like simulation racing real bad.
-
The visuals and audio could have been improved greatly, but if you want to log the many hours to master the controls, underneath all the pain and suffering is a pretty enjoyable racing game.
-
Surprisingly, you'll find that the graphics hold up remarkably well, and the control, though at times frustrating, is as unforgiving and challenging as in the original.
