Cheat Code CentralOne of the most refreshing games I've played all winter. I didn't say it was the best, but if you're getting a little bored of dungeon crawling, shooting and fighting, then consider Everblue 2 as your winter vacation.
-
Everblue 2 has terrific diving scenes, and you may find yourself enjoying that aspect over and over while forgetting about the actual missions, but tries to blend them into a story that is not that solid nor well told.
-
Everblue 2 contains a strong sense of adventure, as you explore the unknown, but also fear of what you might exactly find out there.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyI literally fell asleep 15 minutes into my first "exciting" mission of taking pictures of fish, so that should tell you something. But stick with it, and you may find yourself inexplicably drawn in. [Mar 2003, p.116]
-
Its originality, however, is offset by a sometimes lackluster presentation and the occasionally repetitive nature of its gameplay.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineWhat keeps the title afloat is collecting items, snapping pictures, and building up your character. It actually becomes mildly addictive. [Mar 2003, p.103]
-
It fails to create a captivating story, anything more than moderately interesting characters, and the game interface on land is just silly.
-
netjakIt is very short and even those that do enjoy it will most likely be left wanting more.
-
GMR MagazineThe jarring switch between graphical adventure and actual gameplay is so distinct, Everblue 2 ultimately feels like a half-baked minigame. [Mar 2003, p.67]
