All praise the lord of the church of the swollen-thumbed messiah--this game is a kick!...You pound endlessly on two buttons until either the event is over or you've lost feeling in your hand, but virtually every other aspect of the game has been improved.
-
CNET GamecenterDespite the fact that the control interface will do a number on your fingers and forearms, this game gets a gold medal for capturing the Olympic action with its combination of frenetic gameplay and excellent graphics.
-
It's got a marked cosmetic advantage over competition. When it comes to playability, though, this sucker doesn't even make the scoreboard.
-
A competent four-player track and field game. What more do you want? Great gameplay? Stunning originality? Customizable button setups? A PS2 with four default controller ports? You won't get those.
-
That's not to say it's a terrible game, either, but it's a long way down the track from the instant rewards, utter playability, simplistic fun and almost child-like innocence of the PlayStation original.
-
Although much better than the Dreamcast version and the visual/aural pinnacle for the series, ESPN International Track & Field still mostly parties like it's 1983 with its mix of ten old and new events.
-
Daily RadarIt the best of the Olympic crop, but it still doesn't quite get even a bronze medal.
