While Stitch never provides more than a mild challenge, it's thoroughly entertaining.

The awful camera throws a bucket of painfully cold water on an otherwise good time. [August 2002, p.130]
  3. As a stand alone game could have benefited from just a bit of extra tweaking in the controls and graphics department, but as a companion game to the movie, it does satisfy the non-novice gamer.
  4. The visuals of E626 are downright impressive. All of the worlds have some sort of clay-animation/Disney movie hybrid look to them; they are colorful, over the top, and frighteningly detailed.
  5. A serviceable platform title that will fill the "I want, I want" need of younger gamers who fell in love with the movie.
  6. Movie-to-game titles usually tend to be a lot less playable than this, so at the very least it is worth checking out.

Visually, while not the most complex in terms of architecture, the levels in 626 are massive, cavernous and explode with color. [July 2002, p.79]
  8. An oddly intriguing little chunk of code that, while rather on the short side (we finished it up in about two whole days’ worth of play time), can still entertain.
  9. Gets points for creativity and inventiveness. It tries to bring together many disparate game ideas, but these ideas weren't pushed all the way and at the very least weren't polished enough for a final product.
  10. The graphics are decidedly mediocre. It looks better than a PlayStation One game, but not by much.
  11. It doesn't stand out from the crowd, but it should appeal to fans of the flick.

This game is a mess, plain and simple. Like, why the heck would you ever need strafing controls when you've got FOUR GUNS?
  13. An admirable, but ultimately misguided, attempt to try to do something more than a mindless rehash of the characters/settings from the movie on which its based.
  14. Its focus on blowing things up gives it a bit of a distinction, but since there's little context to the game and the levels seem thrown together, you'll probably lose interest quickly.
  15. With all of the downfalls this game has, it is pretty sad to say, but Stitch is still pretty fun, and will likely appeal to the younger audience.

If you are the forgiving type, and can work your way through the unsatisfactory beginning, you'll see that this game actually has a lot to offer. [August 2002, p.79]
  17. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine

The visuals might pass for first-generation quality at best. [August 2002, p.110]

The alien worlds you visit have a dark almost dystopian atmosphere to them, and the voice acting and storyline are really well done. For an early 2000's game it's actually pretty fun if you can get past the somewhat rigid jumps (especially in the grappling levels) and the less than fluid camera. Full Review »
