The RPG connection here is saliva thin, but if youre thirsting for old-school controller-bruising action; you should sink your teeth into DA: VP.
-
The story isn't gripping, and the combat grows wearisome, but the game's strength - its ability to make you feel like you really are a part of Gothos - makes for a worthwhile experience.
-
It really delivers when it comes to captivating gameplay and incredible sound...It has the potential to provide hours of entertainment, but only for the right individual looking for this kind of game.
-
This is one of those types of games that most people will hate, while a select few will find enormously addictive and a complete blast to play. I personally found myself to be somewhere in the middle, as there were times that I would lose myself in the game for hours on end, but for the most part I just lacked the desire to even load it up in my PS2.
-
Dark Angel is like a McDonalds Value Meal: it'll fill your hack-and-slash needs, but won't add any worthy RPG nutrients to your gaming diet.
-
If this is some kind of punishment for all those people who complained "Onimusha" was too short, then Metro3D have produced what might be considered the ultimate gaming hell.
-
Save for meager communications with villagers and a lackluster end-game sequence, Dark Angel has nothing in the way of instruction, plot, or character development.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineEasily the worst modern game of its genre. [Oct 2001, p.134]
-
The 400+ hours of gameplay is a disability if anything, for if you desire to play more than a couple dozen hours you have a stronger constitution than I do or are a glutton for punishment.
