It's an alright game, but it's nowhere near as fun or memorable as the older Crash games. Some of the dialogue and cutscenes are very funny. As you could have guessed by the title and box cover, the gameplay is based more off of Crash of the Titans and not the classic games.

While the Playstation games could have possibly created a rival for sonic and mario, Naughty Dog left, and the PS2 games, while still fun, didn't have what the other crash games had that made them so good. And the last crash game for the ps2, does it live up to what the originals, or does it follow the trend? Well first off, there were no holds barred when representing the bandicoot this time around. Huge amounts of fan service can be found in this game. I mean, tell me, when was the last time you saw N. Brio in a mainstream crash game? That's right. The characetr that 67% percent of you won't remember is in this game. Presentation quality is top notch. The game's graphics look well done, and the greatness excells even further in the writing. What some of the characters have to say in the game are hillarious. Over 8,500 lines in the game, and a majority of them being funny. Cutscenes are animated in several different styles, which is a nice touch, and you can replay them whenevr you like, although you can't replay CG cutscenes for some reason. Voice acting is top notch, and they even had the money to get voice actors from some of the most famous cartoons ever. Tom Kenny who voices Spongebob and Ice King, Richard Horvitz from Invader Zim, and so much more. HOW DO THEY SPARE THE MONEY TO GET TOM KENNY? YOU'D IMAGINE HIM TO BE A BUSY GUY! But however, as fantastic and fan worthy the presentation of the game is, so much was put into it that they forgot to focus on the gameplay, which is what you should be doing. The game is in a full roaming world instead of levels. And once again, crash is redesigned for this game. It's basically a beat em up platformer. The Titan mechanic from last years game has also made a return, although, can I ask why? Sometimes, It feels like the whole game revolves around the titan mechanic Expand

Running through a platformer with a smile on my face is really the least I can ask for in an unnecessary sequel to an underwhelming extension of the Crash franchise. Excluding the horrific backtracking and occasionally stiff combat, the game controls excellently and feels much more reminiscent of a traditional Crash game than Titans.

The platforming incorporates the use of mutants (or titans) as a breath of fresh air. I'm actually surprised there was any platforming at all, considering how little was in the last one. As others have said, the cutscenes get a good laugh from the cute styles and incredible delivery from the voice cast, especially N. Brio.

The open world aspect of the game felt strikingly similar to my personal favourite, Crash Twinsanity, which was a big plus. A lot of people complain that it's too easy. Yeah, it is. If you want a challenge, I highly recommend the Bonkers! mode which, while still not nearly as hard as the name might imply, does make the combat and boss speeds a lot faster and hence more difficult. You'll be using the dodge mechanic a lot, which is very satisfying to pull off.

Overall, it's not perfect; it has it's issues. But if you're a Crash fan, you're sure to find something you like in this. Whether it be the witty jokes, the colourful cutscenes, the wacky soundtrack or even the gameplay of the mutants themselves. Give it a shot, and there's a good chance you won't regret it.

It is a fun game and I like it but.... Crash of the Titans is better because Mind Over Mutant has backtracking which is..... AWFUL AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but if the game didn't have backtracking it would be better than Titans but still a good game!

It's better than crash of titans in almost every way...
I said "almost" because it's a shame that this game has flaws that stops it for being one of the best crash games.
But I'd see that this game has improved a lot from its predecessor the gameplay is more varied with more balanced switch between platforming and combat, the platforming is a lot better and the level design has improved it

But I'd see that this game has improved a lot from its predecessor the gameplay is more varied with more balanced switch between platforming and combat, the platforming is a lot better and the level design has improved it feels closer to the original games, you can store titans as un equipment and switch between crash and almost every titans at any time and the titans themselves have more use not just for combat for platforming and puzzles.
And the cutscenes are great and hilarious dr n brio is awesome.
The graphics and visuals are colorful with great environments, and the soundtrack is amazing it's very catchy.
Unfortunately the character designs are still not that great and the story has a lot of wasted potential with some characters don't have much appearance and plot points just gave up halfway through the game, but the backtracking is the biggest issue in mind over mutants you will go back and forth between the some locations a lot and it will get very boring. And if those things ruined the game for a lot people I can understand. But the good things outweigh the bad things in my opinion.
It's a good game and It didn't ruined the series as a lot of people say, it's suitable for combat and platforming fans.

  1. A solid platformer. It's fun to play and addictive, and its charming spirit easily overcomes its numerous problems.

Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant is exactly like its predecessor: a mildly enjoyable platforming romp that's sure to satisfy younger players, but won't provide much that seasoned players haven't already experienced before.
  3. If you enjoyed Crash of the Titans, Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a slightly better game with improvements in critical areas such as controls, gameplay and storyline. Sadly, the camera almost ruins the whole package.
