This game is now the standard by which all other games have to live up to this year. Its a great game with some serious chilly thrills...CB2K1 snatches the crown from the hands of "SSX" thanks to speed and style.
-
Get ready, and I mean it, for the coolest, sleekest, meanest, most addictive snowboarding game out there...Sorry "SSX," I believe you have been dethroned.
-
"SSX" is the better game, but Cool Boarders 2001 has a more lifelikebut still over-the-topstyle plus more game modes that should appeal to real and wannabe snowboarders.
-
Da GameboyzThis game takes all the best aspects of "SSX" and combines them with some Tony Hawk style gameplay to create a happy medium. While Cool Boarders 2001 can't hold a candle to "THPS," there is a very solid game here.
-
I still prefer "SSX" to this by a long shot, but Cool Boarders 2001 holds it own...I would not be embarrassed to own this game, because the principles of the design are solid, and the end result is that the game is fun through and through.
-
Unfortunately, the game lacks significant depth and as such doesn't grab your attention for extended periods. The difficulty takes a giant leap near the end and may frustrate gamers more than endear them.
-
For those who think "SSX" is too simplified and that "ESPN X-Games Snowboarding" is too difficult, Cool Boarders 2001 is a perfect compromise.
-
There is no shame in being inferior to a groundbreaking title like SSX. And while CB2001 has its share of flaws, you'll still get a thrill seeking challenge.
-
Much like Nell Carter's thighs, the courses are large and in charge.
-
While it doesn't hold up (to "SSX") in a side-by-side comparison, it still offers a solid snowboard experience that's certainly worth a look.
-
While CB 2001 isn't exactly up to the standards of some other titles on the market, for anyone interested in extreme sports titles, it's well worth a try.
-
GamePowerThe graphics are clean and crisp, the soundtrack and audio effects are excellent, and the depth and variety of gameplay are quite impressive.
-
What gives Cool Boarders 2001 its biggest style points, however, is something it shares with Tony Hawk: performance goals...This turns an average snowboarding game into a fun, engaging experience.
-
Fun stuff!
-
A pretty solid, if somewhat plain vanilla Snowboarding title. It looks good, plays well, and offers plenty to see and do.
-
There are too many creative and technical glitches, but it can still be enjoyable and fun.

-
ZiggyStardustNov 11, 2002Cool Boarders does not do well when compared with SSX. The boarding just doesn't feel right, and the graphics are below average.
