A decent space shooter that will probably disappoint hardcore fans of the show who would want more of the magic that made the show so endearing.
-
It's a great game, with good graphics, immersive storyline and an overall appeal that I can't ignore.
-
An extremely challenging game, with a lot going for it, but unfortunately the game is hindered by some aspects, like the save function.
-
The combination of the irritatingly tough mission structuring along with the relative simplicity of the combat ultimately makes Battlestar Galactica a bit too basic of an experience for any seasoned space combat fan, and it's too difficult of an experience for casual fans that are just looking for a simple trip down memory lane.
-
While fans will lap it up like an autograph of the late Lorne Greene, therell always be that nagging feeling that this could have been much more.
-
If the difficultly was a bit more consistent and mission parameters more forgiving, then Battlestar Galactica could have been a massive hit. As-is, the game is sure to please fans of the license, but those looking for something deeper will likely be disappointed.
-
The audio effects are disappointing but everything else is up to par. Unfortunately, it fails to become really meaningful and memorable, thus making it a good space action title but not one that will be talked about years later.
-
Despite a solid structure, the key appeal (and focus) of the games presentation is to the gamer looking to re-immerse themselves again in the mythos surrounding Battlestar Galactica, and without that sense of nostalgia, it becomes a lot harder to forgive some of the games more glaring flaws.
-
TotalGames.netThis is the very definition of a linear game. Ok, we can accept that. But if the game is going to be so particular, it would be helpful if it wasn't so restrictive and occasionally clumsy.
-
Will prove too frustrating for most gamers. It is best left to Galactica buffs who know the difference between a dagget and a Cylon and who are looking for any nostalgia fix that they can get their hands on.

Official U.S. Playstation MagazineProtection missions, like escort missions, are the bane of space-sim players, and BSG has quite a few of them. [Jan 2004, p.112]
-
Ugly and smelly enough that only a dedicated few should bring it home. [Jan 2004, p.135]
-
Battlestar Galactica's biggest flaw is a brutal difficulty level that will make grown men (and women) cry and beg for their mommy. Graphics, sound and control are definitely top notch though.
-
Problem is the game is about as friendly as a Cylon; there's no tutorial to ease you into all those moves or the different mission types, and the difficulty spikes at odd moments, making some levels painfully tedious.
-
Play MagazineBlame slightly unnatural control and a rather generic feeling. [Dec 2003, p.84]
-
A solid attempt that unfortunately does nothing new or unique and suffers from some strange gameplay quirks.
-
PSM MagazineHardcore fans of the series will enjoy it, but those looking for an engaging space battle - or a decent game - won't. [Jan 2004, p.32]
