The real joy of Army Men RTS is the creativity of the game. The cut scenes are downright hilarious, and the movie spoofs are frequent.
-
It might not stick out as absolutely superb, but it's definitely sharing space on my shelf.
-
Fast and fun.

Official U.S. Playstation MagazineAt last 3DO has delivered a game that really capitalizes on the Army Men idea, the childhood dream of commanding living regiments of those little, green, plastic, violent buggers. [May 2002, p.100]
-
The smart control scheme virtually eliminates the control problems inherent in RTS console games, and the varied mission objectives keep the game engaging all the way through.
-
This is aimed at the younger player so dont expect too much, but it remains a solid introduction to the genre thats easy to get into and fun to play.
-

-
The characters have character, and the story is quite good as well, which gives the game life, when the novelty of the gameplay starts to wear a little thin.
-

Electronic Gaming MonthlyAfter a few levels I found that it's harder to stop dribbling at the urinal than it is to destroy the opposition. [May 2002, p.106]
-
Game InformerIn terms of real-time strategy releases, Army Men: RTS is the definition of mediocrity. [May 2002, p.83]
-
Misfires by not tweaking the A.I. and gameplay as much as the graphics or the simplified-to-perfection control.
-
The classic example of a superlative package with nothing inside.
-
Regretfully, Army Men RTSs cleverly conceived combat units and resource system are quickly overrun by deadlier forces: lackluster controls and frustrating gameplay.
