Cheat Code CentralA cash grab...a shallow game. It's a novelty that will disappoint many in the long run.
-
If you buy this, you've been duped. This game is a quick cash-in and isn't even worth a rental. Save the receipt and return it for "Karaoke Revolution."
-
There's a decent selection of songs, but the frequent loading, limited game play and repetitive nature of the title just make it too boring for most to handle after a handful of sessions with the game.
-
Overall it seems like the production attitude was, to quote the Simon Cowell-managed Westlife, "Hey, whatever." A very poor cash-in, and one to avoid.
-
The recipient of the "Coaster of the Year" award. Beer steins everywhere are smiling.
-
Strictly for Barbie collectors or fans of the show who have no understanding of what makes a good videogame, American Idol is a cheap rip-off of other, much better games, and an overall unimpressive attempt to cash in on a popular TV phenomenon.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineThere's something fundamentally wrong about the fact that you can beat American Idol - and not miss a single note - with the sound off. [Feb 2004, p.101]
-
The only button you really need to know about is on the back of your console and it's pretty much impossible to press it too soon. [Feb 2004, p.114]
-
One of those rare games that make you wonder how it is even authorized to be sold for a profit.

Feb 8, 2023I HATE SIMON COWELL SO MUCH I WANT TO SHOOT HIM 328 TIMES, THROW HIM DOWN A RIVER AND DROP HIM OFF OF A CLIFF. But other than that pretty good game
-
HenrikS.Jun 7, 2007Well, much like the show itself. Repetitive, boring, and not worth the time spent on it.
-
EMFeb 9, 2005I think this game is brilliant! I can't put it down!
