    Zombie Driver (HD) is an Indie game in which you mow down hordes of hungry zombies while driving fancy cars. In terms of story, it is just the usual classic; a chemical accident from a failed experiment of the government turned everyone into zombies and now apocalypse is happening all around the world.

    There are various modes to choose from in this game. This gives the game a lot of variation and keeps you entertained. I was expecting to do the same stuff over and over again until it bored me into a zombie, and although in a way, it is the same principle all over, the different modes offer a lot of fun and keep the game interesting to play.

    You got the story mode in which you complete different missions like rescue survivors, kill a lot of zombies or even kill a boss. You can collect different powerups and new weapons to help you in your efforts. The story missions are tense and because many are timed, you need to think fast and feel the pressure. The missions are just fine and offer a good feeling of progression. This is mainly of the nice counters and checklists on your screen to keep track of your current progress.

    Second, Zombie Driver (HD) offers a racing mode. At first, it seemed lame and unnecessary, but when playing, it was a hell lot of fun. You collect different powerups to blow your opponents to shreds while racing for the finish. You want to achieve the gold time of course, so you better get moving. The tracks are well designed and the balance for the AI is fair. The adrenaline rush for such a simple game is surprising and I liked it very much. Especially because I hate and despise racing game personally.
    The third mode is endless survival in which you can earn gold medals for staying alive long enough. I personally liked this one the most. The action is nonstop, you desperately search for weapons, health pickups and ammo, and try to use the terrain to your advantage.

    The graphics in Zombie Driver (HD) are nice for such a simple game and the animations and effects are well done. The ray from electricity weapons, the fire, explosions, the gore, it all looks very well. Especially in the HD remake. I also really like the interface graphics, the theme of the menus and the nice medal icons that let you know: “You did it bro”.

    The sound effects are cool.The slams of your car into other cars or zombies, the gunfire, nothing to complain about there. The music is awesome. It rocks some fine tunes and, like always for me, it adds to the experience when the tracks are just fine (or perfect) to listen too.

    The controls are fluent. This is almost a requirement for a game like this, but my experience as a gamer taught me that there is some vile and unresponsive crap out there, even when you do not expect it. The cars handle well, the weapons aim fine and there is just nothing to complain about in that regard.

    Although the principle of Zombie Driver (HD) has been done many times, most times it was an individual game for each of the modes that this game offers. In Zombie Driver (HD) you get a whole lot of content, tons of stuff to do and some fun achievements to focus on, making the game even better. For me, this meant that I saw every inch, mode and weapon in the game, and I got the most out of it.

    This game is a very interesting take on the bullet hell / horde shooter genres, where you run around in a car instead of a regular character, with which come some specifics in regards to controls and movement. The game is, all things considered, built pretty solidly. The graphics are nothing special, but they are good enough    A fun little game, just don't expect anything overly complex.

    This game is a very interesting take on the bullet hell / horde shooter genres, where you run around in a car instead of a regular character, with which come some specifics in regards to controls and movement. The game is, all things considered, built pretty solidly. The graphics are nothing special, but they are good enough for the time it was released and the type of game it is. The blood effects are pretty good, actually. The sound design is a bit bland though, and the soundtrack, while technically pretty solid with good sound quality, is a bit generic and uninspired. I got it with the game, but I doubt I will ever actually listen to it separately.

    The main singleplayer story of the game is a C-class zombie flick kinda thing, it does not take itself too seriously, and the big plot twists can be seen from a mile away, but it is really just a background noise to running around in a semi-sanbox city arena and slaughtering thousands of zombies - literally thousands, some of the side missions have you kill 2500 zombies and they are not exactly challenging, you can kill a lot more than that in one run.

    The city is also split into different locations, which are not only visually different, but require a bit different approach as well - some are denser and confine you to the roads, others are more open and you will be able to run in between building freely. There is also a lot of pick ups strewn around the city, so it is worth it to explore a bit whenever possible. The main "plot" is a bit short, but considering its quality, or lack thereof, its a good thing it does not overstay its welcome.

    There is a decent variety in vehicles, but they don't feel all that special - pretty much all of them feel the same, which is a shame, and the driving could use a bit of fleshing out, as it is a bit simplistic - considering cars are the main protagonist, really, this is a pretty large con.

    The game also has a racing mode, which I really did not get into, I feel like the faults of the driving models really rear their ugly head here, but it looks like there is a lot of people who actually did like and play the racing mode, so perhaps you will as well. Then there is a survival / horde mode, which seems more fitting, but as your car upgrades do not transfer between modes, I really could not be arsed to grind my cars and weapons again and did not play it, though I would have probably liked it much more than the racing mode.

    Anyways, I can recommend it, it is fun for what it is. So long as you curtail your expectations, you'll have fun as well. However, the game still falls into the "wait for discount" category for me.    … Collapse

    A very good-looking game with a very average gameplay. Unfortunately, the car drives like a dog with a gamepad, with 3 schemes but none that make sense.

    Очень даже норм игрушка, просто сел и залип в неё на 9 часов, реально понравилось кататься и мочить зомбей.

    Zombie Driver is a damn good game, but if you read my recommendation for the original version, you knew that already. This HD version adds some choice features like rechargable turbo, boss fights, an extended story mode, and a guest appearance by the van from L4D's Crash Course campaign. It's a classic top-down driving game in the vein of Death Rally or the original Grand Theft Auto, withZombie Driver is a damn good game, but if you read my recommendation for the original version, you knew that already. This HD version adds some choice features like rechargable turbo, boss fights, an extended story mode, and a guest appearance by the van from L4D's Crash Course campaign. It's a classic top-down driving game in the vein of Death Rally or the original Grand Theft Auto, with plenty of fast action, violence and fun to spare. It's a simple pleasure with no multiplayer, but it's got a triple combo of story missions, races and survival modes. If you didn't play the original game, then this is the version to get. So strap in and gun that engine, those zombies aren't going to splat themselves.… Expand

    A good game with great graphics and sometimes compelling missions but why did I have to buy another game? The HD version should have been handled as an updateDLC of the original game. This is just money-grabbing.

    Zombie Driver HD's relatively low price point and reasonable replay value make it easy to recommend, so long as you aren't expecting something of full retail quality.
