On the one hand, a pretty amazing game with an impressive assortment of zany side stories, idle diversions, and a gripping plot.

On the other hand, a horrifically unstable PC port with M+KB controls that require 3 arms, hampered by Denuvo and beset with all manner of random stuttering, freezes, and crashes with about 20 possible band-aid solutions (none of which actually work). SEGA

SEGA have also given up trying to patch out these issues. Quite frankly embarrassing.

For a 20€ PC Game I dindnt expected much but it was a complete awesome expierence!
I played mostly only story and a few side missions and i came to 34 hours of Gameplay!
The Characters are just an absolute joy to see and play! I had never played a Yakuza before but the controls are just one of the best for a fighting game! If you love a good interresting and funny story this is one of

If you love a good interresting and funny story this is one of thouse game you will never forget!
The fighting system is getting easier the more money you invest into it and makes ist also much more fun! But it doesnt get too easy because the further you get in the story the harder the fights become!
There are also many Sidequests and Events/Activities you can do while you are doing the Main Mission or at the end of it!
The Game is very good Optimized even older Graphic cards can play it easily!
And the Music is just the Best and changes at the right time in cutscenes fights or activities!
It is the Best time I had with a game since a long time!

Haven't had as much fun with a game since sleeping dogs. Really awesome in pretty much every aspect, but the most important thing to mention here is atmosphere. Eating ramen, singing karaoke, and all those little things you can do in town make you feel like you're walking the streets of Tokyo. Also great the speech is in Japanese and not overdubbed. A++ SEGA, keep making there and keepHaven't had as much fun with a game since sleeping dogs. Really awesome in pretty much every aspect, but the most important thing to mention here is atmosphere. I'd heard about the series, but as I hadn't owned a Playstation since PS2, never played it.
Picked it up on my PC as it was bluntly "cheap" - and have been completely won over.
I suspect/hope this was a deliberate Sega ploy, and they're going to release the rest of the Kiwami/remakes for the PC at full price (and I'll buy them). So the game. It's not a Japanese GTA - which is how the

So the game. It's not a Japanese GTA - which is how the games are sometimes pitched.
World is pretty small, but lovingly detailed - but not 'open world'
I think of it as a game-pulp-novella. Strongest point of the game is the story. Think of it like a great TV show with a great story - and amidst the main plot, you get to play about with a load of games and a load of really entertaining side-missions.
Why I enjoyed this game though was the feeling of place it has. I know it's called 'Yakuza' - but you're going to feel like you know them a bit more at the end.
Why I *REALLY* enjoyed the game was the variety of stories - the big bold set-pieces, full-on-melodrama (full on "MENDOZZZA!!!") to the silly stuff that makes you laugh out loud.
Of special mention as well is the great localization - audio is in full japanese, but really great subtitles ("you really **** the bed" - suspect isn't a japanese phrase for example, but you get the sentiment).
Trying to work out how to sell the game, the best I could come up with was the TV show "The Wire".
Each chapter has a proper plot, but so many asides you think are just for diversion, but realize actually are there to also make you care about the characters.

I'm not kidding when I say that this is the best game that I've ever played. It had probably been around 15 years since I put over sixty hours into a game, but every facet of this drew me in. I think about 80% of that was on the mini games alone, but yes...get this game. It's well worth it.

This game is amazing from start to finish. The only problem I have is the writing feels a bit too "Japanese" sometimes. I'm happy to give this game a 9. A must play for Yakuza fans, and even for newcomers

A better version of Yakuza 0 on the PC.
What else could you ask for?
    Yes, more ports!

This is easily one of the best and most satisfying games to play through.
Even the humour is top-notch (not something you'd expect from this kind of game at first glance, I certainly didn't).

If you have never played a Yakuza game, Yakuza 0 makes for the perfect entry point. It introduces a host of wacky characters and starts the journey of Kiryu that certainly doesn’t end here. Beyond that, though, Yakuza 0 is just a damn good game, and that’s rad.

One of the best video game prequels ever made and one of the best entries in the Yakuza series, along with some of the best gameplay.

I’ve steered clear of Japanese games since I figured out long ago they’re not my cup of tea. But Yakuza is something else. It was my first contact with the series and although at first I did mind the fact that it trails behind Western competition in many aspects, I quickly ceased to notice it. I know it’s an overused cliché, but damn, Yakuza has a soul! And an exceptional story, one of the best I’ve experienced in games since I started playing them almost thirty years ago. Even if you avoid Japanese games, do yourself a favour and give Yakuza 0 a chance, because it is ridiculously fun and you need to experience it too. [10/2018, p.69]
