I've played them all. Been a fan ever since the original in 1995. 1, Armageddon and then perhaps Reloaded are my favorites, but with Worms: W.M.D I think I might have to change that to a singular game. In other words: This game is everything I love about Worms. For some reason Revolution just didn't work for me. Not in a technical sense, but in the sense that it didn't have that magicI've played them all. In other words: This game is everything I love about Worms. For some reason Revolution just didn't work for me. Not in a technical sense, but in the sense that it didn't have that magic ingredient that is absolutely imperative for a Worms game to work. W.M.D has this in spades!

First off, the vehicles! I love them! It is amazing how much it adds to the gameplay. Then there's the single player gampaign, which is actually quite well done and challenging. You sortof get the idea of what they want you to do, but since it is Worms, everything doesn't always turn out the way you thought it would. And that mayhem is just a blast to behold. Literally!

The personality of the Worms also shines through. Probably THE most important thing in a Worms game is the speech banks. And so far I've chuckled aplenty when my Worms complain or scream when a grenade lands nearby. It's just a lot of fun to watch this game in action.

The new Worms design is also a large step forward. Gone is the super-cute Worms of the past. Now we have a more sinister looing worm, without shedding the cuteness completely. And that's ultimately the personality I want the worms to have. They are sortof these tough little guys who believe they are the master of the world. But they **** up over and over again, and thus we feel sorry for them while laughing our asses off.

Some small glitches aside, this game is the ultimate worms game. I give it a 9 since, unfortunately, there's still no easy way to create and upload custom speech banks, tomb stones and so on. I have been wishing for this forever. But Team17 doesn't seem to prioritize it. I would love to go bananas making these things and uploading. Perhaps in a future update.

Bottom line: This is the best Worms game since the series began.

Yes, Worms! Worms WMD is everything you expect from a Worms title: comedic chaos and destruction. Back to the roots of the game is where Team 17 needed to go, and Worms WMD delivers.

Very good game that stayed true to its origins (strategic war with a lot of comedy and destruction) and added a bunch of new features! Why can't more games sequels stay true to their roots?

A great turn based party game! Each player has up to 8 worms and a large variety of weapons. There is also a single player campaign and custom match with bots. Controller recommended.

[Worms W.M.D] is the greatest leap in the series.
This game is perfect and must be played, especially with family and friends.
Yeah. It could be played alone with 30 magnificent campaign levels with new fashion art style and keeping the fun gameplay from old games in the franchise. Or multiplayer with both online or by the same screen, it's turn base game after all. my advice is go and

So this is the best Worms game they made since Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party.
It's fun and does some interesting new stuff.
BUT: This game needs a lot of changes from the developer, or the online community is dead again in a few months as everybody goes back to Worms Armageddon. Besides many small things that need tweaks and fixes, the developer needs to add a global text

BUT: This game needs a lot of changes from the developer, or the online community is dead again in a few months as everybody goes back to Worms Armageddon.

Besides many small things that need tweaks and fixes, the developer needs to add a global text chat to the server browser, the option to put craftable weapons into schemes, and many missing weapons like Bow & Arrow, Freeze, Moles, Petrol Bombs, Low Gravity, Mole, and others.

This game is not on one level with Worms: Armageddon but if they keep working on it, it could be.

Also a warning: If you buy this game you don't get all the weapons. Some were exclusive as a pre-order bonus. They have to fix this and give all weapons to all players.

We had a REALLY old school version of this way back in the day with tanks and it really stimulated my creativity and my understanding of simple things like vectors (physics). So cute and fun, but a really educational game too. I love playing it with kids.

This has all the classic Worms gameplay yet it feels fresh and fun, what a game should be. Its very polished and I've not had any issues, even when running it on Steam for Linux. Its a lot of fun to play singleplayer but comes into its own multiplayer with friends.

Worms. Worms 2. Worms Armageddon. Worms 3D. Worms Forts. Worms: Open Warfare. Have they made enough Worms games yet? More than 20 games exist in the main Worms series, and there's still games like Worms Blast and Worms Crazy Golf that take the physics of the Worms games and apply them to other mechanics.

What improvements were made from, say, Worms 2 (1997) to Worms: Reloaded (2010)?

What improvements were made from, say, Worms 2 (1997) to Worms: Reloaded (2010)? Umm... Worms: Reloaded did have hats. Don't get me wrong, aside from the period where things went off the rails and the Worms games went full 3D, many of the newer installments have been quite good, but they just haven't really added or changed anything worthwhile. I would be perfectly happy playing one of the original games.

Worms W.M.D is literally a game-changer. W.M.D takes the classic 2D Worms formula, and adeptly outfits it with enough new shiny mechanics and enhancements that it's a wonder it wasn't done before.

This installment of Worms adds vehicles: tanks, helicopters, and mechs, etc. Each vehicle has a set of disadvantages and advantages, and they all look and sound amazing. The drillboat is capable of traversing land OR water, which can be extremely useful in certain situations. While you can cause some major destruction inside of these vehicles, don't get caught in a bad spot; it's going to hurt when one of them explodes with you inside. Additionally, the game adds machine guns, flamethrowers, and other stationary weapons around the map for you to use as you crawl around the map. Nothing in this game feels superfluous, and it all has a reason behind it. I've found myself realizing game after game about the sometimes not-so-obvious merits and side effects of the new map elements.

Over the years, I've bought new Worms games and enjoyed them, but frequently found myself disappointed when some of the great classic weapons were removed. I'm proud to report that W.M.D brings back ALL of the best weapons from the series, as far as I'm concerned. Banana Bomb, Concrete Donkey, Super Sheep, Holy Hand Grenade, Sentry Gun, Carpet Bomb - they're all here... and they can be upgraded. In Worms W.M.D, a new crate drop has resources that you can use to craft weapon upgrades, as well as new weapons. This means that you can upgrade your Concrete Donkey to an Angry Concrete Donkey, which falls through the earth covered in FLAMES. The Shotgun can be upgraded into a Training Shotgun, which has laser sights on it. And if you are having a hard time finding the classic Ming Vase, the Dynamite upgrades into it, which makes sense, as having them be separate item slots would be redundant. The Ninja Rope is back again, and the physics are actually shockingly similar to the classic Worms games, which will be a relief for roping veterans.

Maps now will usually have buildings on them if they are enabled. When inside a building, your worms can crawl through their tunnels and seek strategic vantage points. If you don't have any worms inside a building, you can't see any enemies that may be inside. It's very well done, and adds an extra stealth element to the game.

While the game still very much shines as a multiplayer/party game, the single player modes are engaging and exciting. There are many challenges of different sorts for you to complete, and as you complete them you will unlock various goodies, such as new speech banks (accents) for your worms.

The sound effects, particle effects/explosions, and environments are all fantastic and set a new standard for the series, too. Excellent.

Having played MANY of the Worms games in my lifetime, I can confidently say that Worms W.M.D is the best game in the series. It honors the wisdom of the original games by retaining their strengths while innovating in just the right ways. If you have ever found this series even remotely interesting, you need to buy this one.

There were some bugs where I got softlocked, and admittedly, it was kinda annoying, but it doesn't detract from the quality of this game. It has the best singleplayer campaign so far in a 2D worms game and that was awesome.

Управление неудобное, графика хреновая. Геймплей на уровне браузерных игр + ещё и очень сложный (из-за управления).

I liked the game better until I faced that Team 17 pretty much let it become an abandonware. It sure would be nice if they'd just keep the game fresh by segmenting Ranked games to more variant Schemes, fixing bugs, etc.

But they are *not* doing that[-3], as of now.

Worms W.M.D is, well, Worms at it's best: a fun, turn-based tactical combat game for up to six players. The new additions, like vehicles and building interiors, work. Crafting is meaningless, though. [Oct 2016]

But the worst innovation is weapon crafting. Right in the middle of a match. "But it's not going to work!", you'll say. You are absolutely right.

A return to the old days of 2D jumping and shooting is flawed with a slow AI. But as a nice arcade relaxing game for a bunch of friends it serves well. [Issue#267]
