    Worlds of Magic is a nice modernization of Master of Magic. It is a pity that the AI is too passive and the UI feels like it is still 90s. [May 2015]

In a few hours, after it’ll disappear in a puff of glitchy smoke, your head will ache and you’ll have trouble remembering the events of your time together.     A strategic game pointing more about amarcord rather than on its effective qualities, much more limited than the amount of feature would initially suggest. A varied product but, definitively not exciting.

    There are a ton of small annoyances that collectively detracted from my overall experience with Worlds of Magic, mainly because the game was still unfinished. Glitching tooltips and crashes (which happened less often since one of the updates), together with the obfuscated nature of how things work, made the game unsatisfying.

    Usable turn-based strategy does have a lot of mistakes, but you can feel the fanatical enthusiasm of its creators. And we can’t forget a few really good ideas in this piece. [Issue#251]

    Worlds of Magic is a solid turn-based strategy, although it's not without issues. Perhaps not especially good-looking, but still satisfying for fans of the genre.

    This game is not hardcore. It's a pale, buggy imitation of Masters of Magic from 20 years ago with much of the magic removed. It's not aThis game is not hardcore.     1. It's buggy. As hell. Like that tactical combat didn't work on release. Or lockups when taking cities. Or corrupting saves. Or a host of other issues. It should have never been released in this condition.

    2. Some of what made MoM great has been removed. For instance there are more shards now but none of them have the features or coolness of the old Myrror in the original game.

    These are just a couple of examples of issues. Major spell/racial imbalances, map zooming issues, control issues, AI issues...the list goes on and on. At this point it's so unpolished you can't even tell if it's a diamond or a cubic zirconia. It's just a rock.
