Mar 29, 2026An expansion in the continuity of The War Within, offering dense, well-crafted content along with several major additions, including a new race, and above all: housing.

Mar 24, 2026World of Warcraft's new expansion speaks of courage, but has very little of it of its own. It suffers from all the limitations established in the middle chapters of the trilogies but Blizzard has limited itself to refining the tried and tested dynamics, adding content and features with little impact on routines that haven't changed a bit. The game still works wonderfully, mind you; those who enjoyed leveling up their characters or collecting all the collectibles now have new reasons to return, but while we were following familiar stories in familiar areas, we missed the sense of novelty and discovery we experienced in previous expansions.

Mar 24, 2026World of Warcraft: Midnight is the middle act of the Worldsoul saga. Xal'atath has succeeded in her plan to subvert Azeroth's champions once again, potentially leading the planet to ruin. But hey, at least you'll have a cozy house to wait out the apocalypse in. Midnight is potentially one of the most pivotal expansions in recent WoW history, but the expansion is creaking under the weight of its sheer ambition. A variety of bugs, gameplay disruption, and polish issues hold back what is otherwise a very solid expansion.

Apr 1, 2026World of Warcraft: Midnight is more of the same in a game well into its 20s. Bright spots such as the Prey mechanic and housing just aren't enough to carry an experience that's saturated with endless perks for logging in daily and churning out world quests and Delves as the numbers go up, up, up.

Mar 26, 2026World of Warcraft: Midnight feels more like a DLC of The War Within than a brand new expansion. The atmosphere, redesigned Silvermoon, soundtrack, and surprisingly detailed housing system are strong highlights, however. But they aren’t enough to fully compensate for uninspired storytelling, underwhelming class additions, and a noticeable lack of a defining expansion identity.

Apr 20, 2026Despite a lack of major innovations, Midnight leans on the great legacy of the Warcraft universe to create a game that is enjoyable from start to finish. While the story isn't as tightly woven as in previous expansions, it knows exactly how to tug at the heartstrings of veterans while keeping interest high in this endless war against the forces of the Void.
