World Heroes Perfect on PC is a direct trip back to the arcade. Charismatic characters, eye catching animations, and a fully intact '90s vibe. The issue is that, without nostalgia, its pacing and gameplay feel rigid and slow compared to modern standards. The extras help and are appreciated, but as a standalone product it feels more like a collector's piece than an essential title. Recommended if you grew up with Neo Geo. Skippable if you're looking for a modern fighter.

World Heroes Perfect was an absolute blast to play, with its fast-paced action and beautiful art style. I had so much fun learning the ins and outs of the game in its training mode, and I also felt really challenged in the arcade mode. While I wasn’t able to try out the online, including rollback code is a nice touch and is going to make fights smooth, which I will be excited to try out. However, the game also slightly staggered in its presentation, with the menu feeling slightly sluggish to control and having a style that contrasts hard against the incredible hand-drawn work from the original title, and the lack of customization with the frames. While not perfect, this was a fun time and has me interested in checking out more SNK games so I can make new memories to go alongside the ones I still hold onto from long ago.

World Heroes Perfect returns as a chaotic and stubborn slice of SNK’s arcade legacy, blending a bizarre historical roster with fast, punishing combat that feels both dated and oddly refreshing. This updated release adds meaningful modern features like rollback netcode, Practice Mode, and expanded online options, giving the 1995 fighter a better chance to connect with today’s audience. While its brutal AI and unforgiving pacing may push away newcomers, there is a scrappy charm in its weird characters and high-risk matches that keeps it engaging. It is not a lost classic reborn, but it is a fascinating, frustrating, and occasionally rewarding relic that now has the tools to be appreciated on its own terms.

The perfect history lesson, World Heroes Perfect combines timeless fights with rollback netcode and more in what amounts to a title that respects the past while also looking to the future.

This new version may not be able to rub shoulders with the current kings of the genre, but its great art style, direct gameplay and humour keep it as fresh as the first day.
