Masterfully crafted industrialization utopia offering high complexity and enormous freedom for players.

One of the best urban strategies comes from Slovakia, and in addition to its complexity, it also impresses with its setting in the period of socialism. This leitmotif will not bother you, even if this time does not mean anything to you, and when you have experienced it yourself for at least a moment, it will be all the more interesting for you.

A city-building strategy game that is dangerously addictive and captures its historical theme through its gameplay mechanics. In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, you'll transform villages into sprawling concrete metropolises, coordinate complex production chains, and manage massive distribution networks. Most importantly, you'll have a great time doing it, even though the game occasionally throws a wrench in the works with its clunky elements.

Workers & Resources is a terrific builder. Very complicated, quite ugly, with a cluttered UI and an extremely complex network of mechanics and connections, that looks like something from a fever dream. But it drags you in and offers lots of satisfaction when something finally goes right.

Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic is one of the most in-depth economic simulators on the market, offering an excellent experience for the management-enthused player. However, poor placement tech means that players interested in the game’s building side will surely miss out.

  1. It's disappointing that there are only three maps (no random maps at present), and the new themed buildings are usable only when map editing. I imagine its thriving mod scene will fill in those gaps. Biomes is a nice bonus. A bit underwhelming if you want to go all in, but completely skippable if you're fine with the default setting. Thus: it's fine, with potential to become more appealing over time. [RPS Bestest Bests]
