    I don't understand the low review scores from some users, because the game has great shooter mechanics, a real treat for run and gun players. You can also stealth through many parts, taking out the damn commanders before the call for backup. The story is appreciably better than many games, quickly establishing it's own identity.     Game is "unplayable": Get a computer built in this decade
    Game is "too easy": There is a reason the easy level shows character wearing a baby hat sucking a nipple
    Game is "unrealistic": Were you expecting, "Farm Simulator" or "Anna"? All you do is "Shoot" and "Kill People": ummm FPS... The game is fun, entertaining, and brings back to what made ID games great, pure FPS. Can't wait    Game is "unplayable": Get a computer built in this decade

    A brilliant single player experience, if you love Far Cry 3, Skyrim, Borderlands... you will UBER LOVE this.

    The gunplay is as good as the excellent story as well, all the guns feel useful, and the AI is great in Uber mode (not so great in lower modes however). Recommended to all who love a great shooter, awesome story and them Nazi killing feels. 10/10 (would be 9.5, but rounded up    A brilliant single player experience, if you love Far Cry 3, Skyrim, Borderlands... you will UBER LOVE this.

    Wolfenstein: The New Order is the best sequel in the Wolfenstein series at all. Bethesda’s team did really an excellent job in AI, storyboard and the atmospheric sound and locations are just breathtaking. In a nutshell: The game is and just looks great!

The 2009 Wolfenstein by Raven Software tried to introduce an open world game concept but failed badly in the execution. Yes, Wolfenstein The New Order is a CoD-like tunnel-shooter with a lot of scripting and cut scenes but this is what works best for a character likeThe first person shooter is back! Wolfenstein The New Order focuses on one thing: being an excellent first person shooter. The 2009 Wolfenstein by Raven Software tried to introduce an open world game concept but failed badly in the execution. Yes, Wolfenstein The New Order is a CoD-like tunnel-shooter with a lot of scripting and cut scenes but this is what works best for a character like B.J. Blazkowicz. The game feels more like the 2001 Return to Castle Wolfenstein but gives an immense insight in B.J. Blazkowicz's character. In Return to Castle Wolfenstein B.J. didn't say a single word while other characters have been talking. The parallel universe setting with a Nazi-Regime in the 1960's who won WWII in 1946 and even managed to visit the moon creates an extremely interesting environment to explore. The only thing that I missed in Wolfenstein The New Order was actually Hilter as the Ober-Boss. He was in the 1992 Wolfenstein 3D so why not in Wolfenstein The New Order as an old man in a gigantic robot suite? I also feel the game designers could have made more of the Jewish-Atlantis culture but maybe all of this will come in a sequel?… Expand

    Is it worth $59.99? Debatable, price tag aside. This game for what its worth is probably one of the better games I have played this year, if not the last as well. It really goes back to its roots when it first came out so many years ago, and they were able to create a system and story that is not only creative but entertaining. Who doesn't like shooting Nazis, I mean come on.

    A great game, if a bit on the short side. I really loved the amount of detail and atmosphere this game has. If you've enjoyed games for the likes of Far Cry 3 and Fallout 3, you will love this game. It's bristling with character. The story is entertaining, and refreshing.     This game was pretty amazing, I'm very impressed. Loved the ending. This is one of my favorite all time fps games now. Hopefully machine head games does a part 2 or tries to do another quake game since they handled wolfenstein so well

The gun play mixes old and new FPS styles and whilst the maps are quite linear they also include many aspects of open world games. There are a few glitches now and again.     One of the BEST FPS games of the last years. Graphics, sound, controls are great, but what is really superb is the story. An alternate route of history and most important of all (especially after this years euro-elections), it sends out a strong anti-nazi, anti-fascist message. Congrats to Bethesda. This is the way games are meant to be !

    This game is simply a blast, it's nothing like what I expected. This game is certainly not your average generic COD FPS shooter, but rather a really fun game, with a great story to back it up. The stealth works great, the guards don't just magically see you hiding behind something, or from a long distance, you can proper sneak right up to the Nazi scum and slit their necks.

    The satisfaction from firing the weapons, specially duel wield, while taking out the Nazi's make for great action and keeps you wanting more. Trust me this game does not disappoint, if you want something to keep you tied over till Watch Dogs this is the game.    … Expand

    This is the best FPS I've played in years. It's easily one of the most interesting stories, not just because of the Nazi's, but because of the actual characters. They feel like real people, even the Nazi's talk about their familes and how they would like promotions. It's hands down one of the best games I've played in a while.

    Keep in mind, that as of the time of this review I have not played any other Wolfenstein game, including the much-remembered Wolfenstein 3D. Starting off with the gameplay, it handles fairly well for an old-school style FPS and the gunplay can often get frantic. My one minor complaint is that the game is fairly easy and even on the hardest difficulty I found it to be more on par with whatKeep in mind, that as of the time of this review I have not played any other Wolfenstein game, including the much-remembered Wolfenstein 3D. Starting off with the gameplay, it handles fairly well for an old-school style FPS and the gunplay can often get frantic. My one minor complaint is that the game is fairly easy and even on the hardest difficulty I found it to be more on par with what I expect from Normal difficulty, sprinkled in with some harder sections in between. Moving on to the story, it's fantastic. Excellent pacing and intriguing dialogue, and even the inclusion of a moral choice near the beginning of the game somewhat alters the story, which gives it some replay value if you are really invested in the characters. (P.S. Moral choices make me feel guilty about my decisions :C) Overall, it's an excellent story-driven FPS and I definitely recommend it.… Expand

    As far a single player FPS goes Wolfenstein: The new order is probably the best game I have played in the past two years. The gun play is tight and engaging, the difficulty is fair (and very challanging on higher difficulty levels, requiring stealth and patience to prevail). The stealth system is very engaging and enemy placement is perfect for a stealth game play.

    The best part of the game is the scenery and the story. The game play never gets boring, from fighting nazis on the streets to using a flak cannon, stationary guns, underwater battles, and every a very cool segment that I would prefer not to mention because it's a spoiler.

    There is only one word that this game can be truly described in for its greatness and that word is awesome.

    Nothing bad or down ratted that i see in it and i just beat the game so nothing bad about it at all. I would vote 11/10 if i could.

    One of the best shooters of my life! Probably the best shooter of my life! Everything about the game is amazing except some graphical glitches which are absolutely ignorable. Great FPS. I love id tech engine.

    Finished Single Player Campaign in 22 hours. Awesome game, loved it, better than I expected it to be. The game just kept getting better as I played it. I will definitely play this again. Played on PC with GTX 780ti 3GB. Graphics are great and the game runs fast at 60 fps at 1440p. If you love id shooters, then you will love this game.

    I wasn't sure what to expect from this new release. I had played the original Wolfenstein back when it came in CD form! It took me a while to give in and try this new release. Wow, I'm SO glad I did. This New Order has a story and a plot, and it's not just a shoot'em up like the original. Excellent graphics and "playability" for sure. You actually relate to the main character. My onlyI wasn't sure what to expect from this new release. I had played the original Wolfenstein back when it came in CD form! It took me a while to give in and try this new release. Wow, I'm SO glad I did. This New Order has a story and a plot, and it's not just a shoot'em up like the original. Excellent graphics and "playability" for sure. You actually relate to the main character. My only complaint...TOO SHORT! I played it in only 12 hours and I wanted MORE! I hope Bethesda releases some DLC's that continue the saga. It would be great!… Expand

    Simply a good solid game. Engaging story, good mechanics. Not the pretties game, but non the less a story that should be played by wolfenstein and FPS fans alike.

    Amazing game driven by a truly captivating plot. The characters are very dynamic and show how people would react in those situations. Clearly lots of effort put in by the devs, as there are tons of areas and items that are hidden throughout the game. Very solid and fun shooting mechanics as well as upgrade system. The graphics were definitely awe-inspiring at points and went well with BJ'sAmazing game driven by a truly captivating plot.     What a fantastic game. Downloaded it from the marketplace, as i wanted a good single player game. Thats exactly what i got, but not good- extreamly good! What a truly fantastic story, with great voice acting. Not only that, but coupled with lots of collectibles, secret rooms, crazy weapons, and a crazy but effective twist on the ww2 setting- makes for an excellent game everybody shouldWhat a fantastic game.     Though some might disagree, I thought the visuals in this game were stunning. The game ran extremely smooth and never once did a stutter occur that I can recall. Wolfenstein: The New Order's story also stays interesting all throughout with the primary goal to hunt down and kill Death's Head. Characters have lifelike facial animation and emotion.     the new standart for the shooter genre! nobody expected anything from shooter these days....walk point A, shoot x waves, walk to the next point...story? don´t bother it´s bad anyways...

    Great game, awesome story, superb comeback to old school while adding modern tweaks. The alternative timeline of history is engaging and has many nice subtleties, like German recordings of well known English hits.
    I also didn't notice texture loading bug from Rage when spinning around, so for me this is improvement over the Tech 5 engine.

    New modern classic. Really cool FPS! Blood, serious moments, weapon in each hand, brutality, nazi massacre, good graphics, even better music.... Near perfect shooter for me nowdays.

    For Germany,Austria and Switzerland:
    If you have an uncut version of game you can use activate the game with hotspot shield or another programs like this.When you play the game,just activate it then play.It works just fine.Great game great story,it gives everything you should expect from Old-School Shooter.

    I used to play the original wolfenstein as a kid both on an old gateway and then with a mac. Used to make my own levels with a friend and trade them during class with floppy disks. Wolfenstein is one of my all time favorite games. The couple wolfenstein games I played since those days have been mediocre at best. This one however is absolutely stunning. The first chapter left my jaw droppedI used to play the original wolfenstein as a kid both on an old gateway and then with a mac. The first chapter left my jaw dropped and I think it was as square as BJ Blaskowicz's by the end of it all. Amazing action: the way the controls handle is very good. Great attention to detail in the environment, very satisfying combat. Very intelligent game from the characters to the story with great nods to the older game, especially the throwback first level of the return to castle wolfenstein! Honestly, this game was an incredible surprise. So good. Made me really happy I wrote this review.… Expand

    Highest settings keeps fluidity, awesome atmosphere, I love the characters. It really brings me back to the first Wolfenstein episodes

    Solid story, funny dialogues, and action fps with no excessively tricky parts, 10 / 10 for me, it was a long time since my last fps, thanks for taking me out of Diablo grinding :)

    The only thing in the new Wolfenstein that turned out really well is music. Shooting is decent and some weapons give proper sense of power, but developers failed to build an interesting game on these foundations. It has some good moments but none of them lasts long enough to be satisfying. Plus the writing is terrible and the way the game constantly forces all that ‘war is evil!’ preaching and Blazkowicz’s moral dilemmas down your throat is ridiculous. I actually couldn’t decide whether the game is being serious or not. [07/2014, p.56]
