    Good story. Nice game play. Somewhat predictable games tropes from the ID software people. Not as bad as The New Order.

    I don't really understand even after reading some of other people's comments, why do they hate this game so much? Comparing it to the previous two games Wolfenstein The Old Blood and Wolfenstein The New Order it is the worst one.

    But does it mean being the worst one out of let's say 6 games in total make you a complete unplayable piece of garbage? NO IT DOESN'T!!!     Reading the "Most Helpful" reviews, I see people from 2017 complaining about performance issues and bugs but when I played all 3 games back in 2021 this one seemed to perform the best for me actually.

    I love the newly rebooted Wolfenstein franchise (excluding the fourth game). If you're thinking about playing this game for the first time, then first play the game and then read all the negative comments from those b1tches and decide for yourself.    … Expand

    A fun game; I didn’t run into any problems with bugs that some people reported, perhaps they’ve been ironed out by now. Yeah it’s a little PC but not as bad as people are complaining.

    An underwhelming experience that manages not to be very fun despite plenty of opportunity to be so. The environments and locations are beautifully realized but difficult to navigate. Characters are interesting and brought to life by incredible voice talent, but I felt little connection to any other than B.J. For example, I maxed out headshot and dual-wielding perks within a few missions, but I couldn't find enough grenades in the game to reach level 1 of the grenade kills perk by the time credits rolled. Stealth is encouraged, but levels are not designed to make it a viable alternative to going in guns blazing. And even so, combat is often confusing and lacks precision.     Honestly, a wonderful game that is let down by half-baked concepts and a maybe rushed development. The narrative is way too fast-paced and too high-concept, feels like Quentian Tarantino porn. This game really needed a tighter, more conclusive, narrative. Maybe add side-quests to flesh out each of the main characters so it feels more complete.

    Had a great time with this. Interesting story with a blend of intense and funny moments. Great action and enough varying mechanics to keep you interesting. Worth playing.

    Loved the story. Loved the graphics. Loved the weapons. Loved the little details. But thing felt like they got a bit out of hand at parts as well as some bosses felt out of place for me.

    What a mess. Bought it on sale in 2021 and still feel like i wasted my money. Horrible game play decisions that ruined good game play from TNO.
    And ofc the awful sitcom/ soap drama, out of this world story.

    I’m going to start by saying that I have never played a Wolfstein game before. All developers should look at Wolfstein 2: the new colossus, admire and try to mimic the amount of optimisation that went into this title. The game runs smooth as butter on my 980 ti 4790k, unlike many big budget PC games.
    The story is great, way above your average evil vs good storyline. Controls are fine,    I’m going to start by saying that I have never played a Wolfstein game before. All developers should look at Wolfstein 2: the new colossus, admire and try to mimic the amount of optimisation that went into this title. My ancestors came from a country that was ravaged by the nazis, and it angers me to think that some game developer would either downplay how evil their regime was or downplay the heroism of those who faught against them.

    The game also fails to make a distinction between a professional soldier and a politician, and this makes the story more confusing/stupid than it should be. By the game's logic, all US soldiers during WW2 must be registerd democrats. Imagine playing a game on the German side, and the NPCs repeatedly refer to war against "the democrats" when it really means American soldiers. The entire game is like this, and it's the kind of thing a 10 year old would write. It repeatedly refers to Germans as nazis even though nobody at the time talked like that, and the soldiers themselves would not self identify as being representatives of that party. This is why British, French, and American soldiers always refered to enemy soldiers as krauts, Jerries, the hun, or the boche. If you were being polite, you would just call them Germans.

    It seems like a good game that is burried under garbage writing. This is a game that wants to tell a story and teach a lesson, but the story and lesson are just awful. I don't even know how it's possible to make the story subtract from the game, but they pulled it off.    … Expand

    Just another re-skinned cash grab with some awful cut scenes that build up a cringe inducing story of drama. 1. Mechanics / physics = guns feel fake, no real mechanics; just pinpoint aiming, click and shoot style. Really underwhelming playstyle required. 2. AI = feels clunky and boring, lots of grinding and repeating patterns. Same    Oh what have you done to WOLFENSTEIN!

И вот это мотыляние туда-сюда, из трэша в драму, в игре не очень сбалансировано, на мой взгляд. Это немного коробит. Но, пожалуй, совсем чуть-чуть...
    В общем, бравые американцы опять спасают мир, встречая по пути сумасшедших нацистов, анархистов, коммунистов, пьяниц, уродов, приспособленцев, ну и прочую прелесть.
    Неплохая игра, несущая в своём сердце антитоталитарный заряд. Популярно преподнесённый, но всё же заряд. Это радует.
    И не забудьте пнуть Гитлера по морде.

    And then, in relation to the PC version, the amount of graphic options available to adapt the game to the PC you have (from the most modest to the most powerful) is spectacular. Sorry for those who think negatively about the game (negative note in red) supposedly because of poor optimization: isn't it that you don't adapt the game well to the PC you use? Ideal game to play with a 144HzAnd then, in relation to the PC version, the amount of graphic options available to adapt the game to the PC you have (from the most modest to the most powerful) is spectacular.     Four years later and this game still looks beautiful. The New Colossus is an unquestionable next-gen sequel coming from The New Order and Old Blood, made with better graphics, gunplay, sound effects and complementary gameplay mechanics across the board.

    The level design and story structure is a good mix between the previous two titles, combining the adrenaline-filled pacing of TNO and    Four years later and this game still looks beautiful. The New Colossus is an unquestionable next-gen sequel coming from The New Order and Old Blood, made with better graphics, gunplay, sound effects and complementary gameplay mechanics across the board.

    The level design and story structure is a good mix between the previous two titles, combining the adrenaline-filled pacing of TNO and the map traversal of TOB. Unfortunately the ending did kinda disappoint, but the experience getting there was fun.    … Expand

    Much better than WOLFENSTEIN THE NEW ORDER.
    This game has more cut-scene (and of better quality), more over the top humor (a little like Fallout), faster combat, interesting (and strange) peoples (enemy and supporters), very large bosses
    Story and drama are also present.

    Bare minimum effort has been put into this game. Wolfenstein reboot has mainly been a narrative driven experience and in this department this game fails miserably. They really did not even attempt to come up with a cohesive plot and the caricaturing becomes more and more ridiculous as the game progresses. What a fall from grace when compared to the one that came before this one.

    A really good sequel but certainly not as good as the first one, but it has a really unique and amazing story and the gameplay is still solid.
    Enjoy the story for how much of a got punch it is at the Beginning well. BJ is just losing the will to fight but still moving towards it in autopilot game really enjoyed the story all the way through

    my problems with the game is there's no New Game Plus so it's not a specifying to play the game again with all your perks on dark and the game is a bit more story than game for my liking. I think it is about 25/75 percent gameplay.
    I prefer the tone in the first one word filter more ground. Weird stuff still happend But always feels like you were still in our world. Just more f***** up when in this one. It feels like we have went a bit more into the fantasy.    … Expand

    harika bir oyundu. sinematikleri çok güzeldi. aksiyonu boldu. fakat orta zorlukta oynamama rağmen kolaydı. güçlü silahları toplayıp elde tutarsanız bölümü geçmek çok basit oluyor. silahları merdiven çıkarken bırakmak garip bir hata. hiç sıkılmadım. tavsiye ederim. nvidia 770m ile 960p çözünürlük high-medium ayarlar ile ortalama 30-40 fps aldım.

It can be funny for first several hours, but then...well you just playing for cut-scenes. As people said before, they are too leftish. I understand (at least i hope) that the whole game is just a huge ironic performance. And all this leftish stuff may be a part of it...but im not sure it was rly required. What is more, they could make much more out of it. So many nice characters, stories, nationalities, and they are not revealed at all.
    What are positive sides? Well, first i must admit amazing work done to create the lore of the game. All those postcards, amazingly made locations, songs etc. making it rly interesting to explore the places where missions take place. I enjoyed so much walking on submarine, american streets, listening to NPC dialogs, that is one of my favourite part of the game. Its also has rly nice soundtrack, pretty funny plot, sometimes i even was laughing rly a lot. In this part of wolfenstein there were only a few of bosses...and i liked it, really. I think that was kinda extra and boring part of the first game, especially for casual players. It took much time and efforts for no reason. The second part went far without it. At some moment, though, it all became boring and i asked myself "Damn, how much missions there are before final cut-scene?". And i wonder that this question was asked exactly on the last mission. And this is awesome. The game is not too long, not too short, its on exact size it should be.
    Finally, about technical issues. I read a lot reviews here saying the game is crashing, bugging etc. But, well, im playing in 2020, so i dont see any kind of this stuff. Its amazingly optimized, bugs werent met by me, no crashes.

    All-in-all, as i usually say about such games, this is an adventure for few evenings, not something more and not something that you will like to replay. I guess, on sales its fine to be bought.    … Expand

    Visually the game is impressive, no complaints there. What was most disappointing to me is how unimpactful and rushed the story and characters felt compared to The New Order.

    The game starts off on a high note but quickly devolves into a snoozefest the writers consider "comedy" with ridiculous plot twists and a very abrupt ending. Everything is very anti-climactic and the entire thing feels like it should've been the prologue, so what you end up doing half the time is walking around a submarine doing silly fetch missions, killing Übercommanders (which has ZERO impact on progression), and watching cutscenes, that are, to the dev's credit, quite well made. The rest of the time it's the same run-and-gun where everything kills you in two hits, or stealth, which is significantly easier than just shooting everything.

    The New Colossus also has some very baffling design choices:

    - No dedicated 'map' button. The only way to access the map is to visit the journal, which sometimes decides to default to a different tab, so viewing a map sometimes requires 3 button presses.

    - No way to bind the fire button for the left and right weapons when in dual wield if you don't wish to shoot your gun with the right mouse button and aim down sights with the left mouse button.

    - No option for aim toggle.

    - Mouse sensitively when hip firing differs from the aiming/zooming sensitivity and cannot be altered.

    - Excessive and nauseating head bobbing. I HIGHLY recommend downloading New Colossus Tweaker and reducing head bob from 1.0 to at least 0.5.

    - Changing weapons has a very long animation which makes no sense for a shooter that's meant to be fast paced. On higher difficulties selecting another weapon or even changing from single to dual wield in the middle of a fight WILL be the cause of your death because of how unnecessarily long this animation is.

    - Poor level design in some instances. For example, many locations have small objects or crevices on the floor that prevent you from properly moving over them and cause you to get stuck on them as if they were a wall, which is highly disruptive when in combat. Same issue happens when trying to sneak through a door frame that has a slightly elevated bottom part (like on a submarine) and you can't go over it because apparently nobody thought it was an important enough issue to address.    … Expand

    Great game, better then Doom 2016 which was total garbage in my opinion. The best performance i got in ages on my low end amd gpu. I would like to see BJ's psychopathy getting addressed in a future dlc.

This is what Machinegames decided to put in as the final track for the game. Grow up, Machinegames.

    Having played through The New Order and The Old Blood just prior to this, I was initially a bit disappointed, as in terms of purity of the shooter experience this game is far behind its predecessors. Perhaps the biggest reason are the advanced visuals and very high contrast, which often make enemies and objects difficult to spot (not in the good-difficult way, but in the unnecessary-annoying way). However, the combat is still by and large enjoyable, with reasonably well-balanced mechanics and decent weaponry (aside from the questionable decision to remove the option to toggle aiming down sights).

    What truly convinced me to this game though, is the absolutely brilliant production throughout. From world design, through dialogues and lip sync, all the way to cut-scenes, the game is very immersive, and made me enjoy the experience of playing it tremendously, even if I didn't enjoy the combat itself as much as in TNO. Some of the cut-scenes were really long, but they were so well-produced that they felt like genuine scenes from a movie! I think they worked perfectly in combination with the gameplay though; thankfully they didn't go overboard and make it into a full-blown movie.

    And a final shout-out goes to performance optimisation, which is maybe the best I've seen. Despite the game looking **** gorgeous, I got stable 160+ fps on max settings and 1080p on a GTX 1070. I genuinely can't remember a game where I'd get such high and stable fps throughout, let alone such a modern one.    … Expand

    Shooter of the year! It plays great, looks spectacular and sounds amazing. What’s more, despite an apparent lack of seriousness it’s not afraid to bring up difficult subjects, mixing comedy and tragedy in a stunning way. It’s a ridiculously good game. [13/2017, p.30]
