    Overall seems like an improved version of Wolfenstein - The New Order. Has good replay value.

    I don't like the new weapon switching, but got used to it.

    I experienced FPS drops/glitches where sometimes when I load the game I would get 1/3rd the normal FPS.

    Sound quality isn't great, similar to the previous game.

    Great sequel to previous one :)
    Almost a masterpiece for me. One biggest issues I have with this game was a backtracking....
    Everything else like graphics, atmosphere and story is outstanding :)
    DON'T BUY DLS - not worth :)

    Great game, better then Doom 2016 which was total garbage in my opinion. The best performance i got in ages on my low end amd gpu. I would like to see BJ's psychopathy getting addressed in a future dlc.

    An excellent elaborated plot, flavored with a strong atmosphere and beautiful graphics of the alternative World after the WWII. A lot of hard and juicy game-play, flavored with sparkling sarcasm of the game's heroes. Cool reinforced concrete action game... THE NEW COLOSSUS in my opinion, is the quintessence of all that can be said about this franchise.     An underwhelming experience that manages not to be very fun despite plenty of opportunity to be so. The environments and locations are beautifully realized but difficult to navigate. Characters are interesting and brought to life by incredible voice talent, but I felt little connection to any other than B.J. For example, I maxed out headshot and dual-wielding perks within a few missions, but I couldn't find enough grenades in the game to reach level 1 of the grenade kills perk by the time credits rolled. Stealth is encouraged, but levels are not designed to make it a viable alternative to going in guns blazing. And even so, combat is often confusing and lacks precision.     The continuation of a good FPS. No better and no worse than the first part. This is still an interesting shooter with an interesting world and idea.
    Unusual staging in cutscenes and excellent shootout won't let you get bored. Also interesting characters (especially Blazkowicz) help you to love this game. But useless stealth spoils a lot!!
    And i don't love FPS so much, so only 7.

    Visually the game is impressive, no complaints there. What was most disappointing to me is how unimpactful and rushed the story and characters felt compared to The New Order.

    The game starts off on a high note but quickly devolves into a snoozefest the writers consider "comedy" with ridiculous plot twists and a very abrupt ending. Everything is very anti-climactic and the entire thing feels like it should've been the prologue, so what you end up doing half the time is walking around a submarine doing silly fetch missions, killing Übercommanders (which has ZERO impact on progression), and watching cutscenes, that are, to the dev's credit, quite well made. The rest of the time it's the same run-and-gun where everything kills you in two hits, or stealth, which is significantly easier than just shooting everything.

    The New Colossus also has some very baffling design choices:

    - No dedicated 'map' button. The only way to access the map is to visit the journal, which sometimes decides to default to a different tab, so viewing a map sometimes requires 3 button presses.

    - No way to bind the fire button for the left and right weapons when in dual wield if you don't wish to shoot your gun with the right mouse button and aim down sights with the left mouse button.

    - No option for aim toggle.

    - Mouse sensitively when hip firing differs from the aiming/zooming sensitivity and cannot be altered.

    - Excessive and nauseating head bobbing. I HIGHLY recommend downloading New Colossus Tweaker and reducing head bob from 1.0 to at least 0.5.

    - Changing weapons has a very long animation which makes no sense for a shooter that's meant to be fast paced. On higher difficulties selecting another weapon or even changing from single to dual wield in the middle of a fight WILL be the cause of your death because of how unnecessarily long this animation is.

    - Poor level design in some instances. For example, many locations have small objects or crevices on the floor that prevent you from properly moving over them and cause you to get stuck on them as if they were a wall, which is highly disruptive when in combat. Same issue happens when trying to sneak through a door frame that has a slightly elevated bottom part (like on a submarine) and you can't go over it because apparently nobody thought it was an important enough issue to address.    … Expand

The graphics are an eye-candy. I spent much of the game just looking at how nicely detailed the enviroment is, especially when exploring Eva's Hammer. The post-war enviroments combined with some very cool soundtracks and sound design make for a great atmosphere which makes just simply moving around in the world a delight.

    Another thing I loved is how lovable each character in the story is. Everyone feels really fleshed out, there's great chemistry between the Kreisau members and the voice acting is top-notch! The cinematics between gameplays are great especially during some wonderfully done comedic moments.

    BAD

    Wolfenstein II is very badly optimized and extremely demanding. Even though I have more powerful hardware than the recommended requirements I still had to lower Image Streaming down 2 levels to High and Shadow Quality down 1 level to Ultra. Even then I still had some very noticeable FPS drops in certain expansive areas. I had just upgraded my PC specifically so I could play this game on max, so this was very disappointing.

    Furthermore, for a game that gives you the power to be a hardcore killing machine it gives you very little opportunities to fully unleash your fury and shoot and destroy to your heart's content. In quite a few action sequences I was like "yeaah finally let's shoot some nazis bang bang die die!" and 20 seconds later everyone is dead. I mean, the action was still satisfying, but I felt like much more could have been done by letting you go on an insane killing spree every once in a while.    … Expand

Тут мы играем за терминатора,которой на инвалидной коляске Не умирает за несколько выстрелов от немецких солдат. То есть, в армию берут штурмовиков из звездных войн,которые при всем при этом еще и глухие.Если я просто иду,то на меня агриться огромное количество солдат,но если я иду на ctrl то все - Я неуязвим для ушей противника.Я спокойно расстреливаю солдат с пулемета, и даже если они что-то крикнут,то тревога не поднимется. Слишком убогая стелс-система. Угол обзора вражеских солдат меньше чем 90 градусов. По поводу стрельбы - с ней все хорошо. Тебе на протяжении всей игру не кажется,что оружие пластмассовое. Есть игры,в которых ты наводишься на одну точку,зажимаешь целую обойму в стену,и отдачи будто-бы нет.Здесь все не так. Тебя трясет как больного эпелепсией во время приступа. И казалось бы,ну вроде все не плохо,за что 6? Сюжет в этой игре просто отвратительный. СПОЙЛЕРЫ: Как можно брать на борт дочку генерала нацистской армии?Почему я не могу убить капитана-наркомана?Почему меня заствляют зачищать огромный нацистский корабль со своей беременной женой?Почему нет права выбора. The graphics looks slick and wayyy better than the previous installment which includes the environment deisgn and the detail clothing and armours of characters .     Now coming to the performance side I ran it on a PC with a GTX 1060 3GB and I faced severe VRAM usage issue hoffing almost 3GB on medium setting . Frame rate stays solid 60 with V-SYNS OFF resulting in annoying screen tering . Apart from these if the camera is focused on specific areas the framerate dropped drasticall if the V-Sync is kept on . I'll recommed everyone to play this game on a console as it is better optimized .

    Finally , although it didn't live up to my expectation . I'll still recommed any wolfesntein fans to play this game for for it does right which is solid shooting mechanics .    … Expand

    Okay, I refunded this game. Not because of the gameplay, graphics or technical problems. I'm just so sick and tired of naive politics on popular games. These should be fun and not far left or right propaganda pieces

A more open-worldy approach that facilitate infiltration and allows for a wider variety of approaches. I also liked that the devs did not compromise on the politically incorrectness of the first Wolfenstein in order to attract a wider public

    Cons: BJ is weak in this game, pathetically weak. Unlike the first game, where you could charge groups of ennemies and tackle them quite easlily, a few of them will overwhelm you fast here and you'll get killed pretty quickely. This negates part of the fun that comes from the wider maps approach, and can sometimes be infuriating.

    Spoil: also, the part on Venus was obvioulsy rushed, and not nearly as good as the part on the Moon in The New Order.    … Expand

I read some of the mixed reviews but still figured I would love the game considering how much I liked New Order and the political issues don't bother me at all. However, it's all the gameplay changes that in my opinion are for the worse that has resulted in me not having much fun with the game. The combat and shooting feels off, the new perk system isn't nearly as fun it feels more grindy, not being able to replay levels sucks since I loved doing that to find missed items in the first one, can't even press M to open the map have to maneuver through the cumbersom awful menu screen (another negative it's so cumbersome this time), mission objectives don't list the story unless you press enter on each one every single time, sound effects are awful grenades sound like fire crackers and hitting something with a metal axe sounds like dinging something with a butter knife and there are tons of graphical glitches I've found so far. Above all this - IT JUST ISN'T FUN! All of the things I've listed so far are annoyances or little things, but above all of that I'm just not having fun playing it. I also detest the mein leben achievement considering how buggy the game is and having to do it all in one sitting - it's just stupid. Overall I'm shocked at how much worse this game is than New Order, but that's just me.… Expand

    PROBABLY THE WORST SHOOTER I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS YEAR. I liked Wolfenstein New Order and did not mind the Old Blood spin off either. Both had decent stories and enjoyable balanced game play. Then along came the New Colossus. Its well named because in my opinion this is a colossal mess, in every sense.

    Lets start with the game play. Most of the weapons that worked so well in the other    PROBABLY THE WORST SHOOTER I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS YEAR. I liked Wolfenstein New Order and did not mind the Old Blood spin off either. Both had decent stories and enjoyable balanced game play. Then along came the New Colossus. Its well named because in my opinion this is a colossal mess, in every sense.

    Lets start with the game play. Most of the weapons that worked so well in the other games are missing much of the up-gradable aspects that made them fun to use and more importantly effective against waves of enemies. By contrast the latest game might as well have armed you with a spoon and a blunt bread knife. The result of under-powered weapons is an exhausting corner shooter where if you are lucky you can use a choke point to pick off opponents one or two at a time. If not be prepared to die again and again even on lower difficulty settings. The balance on hit points to armour and health seems horribly skewed in favour of your opponents too. Just to make a frustrating un-enjoyable experience even more so.

    Putting aside the crummy game play is an equally crummy story that makes no sense in the context of the past game stories, holding together about as well as a Chinese Rolex. Unlikable key characters don't help either nor does a overdose of political correctness with a dash of misandry. Being a white male, who of course no doubt makes up the majority of players, is seemingly, not such a good thing if this nonsense is to be believed. A Gone with the Wind long string of pointless video cuts scenes does not help things along either.

    Lastly to top off this crap sandwich there's the bugs. I could not get this game to run on my high end gaming rigs native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and instead had to apply a setting I have not used in many years. I also had to tone down the high end textures and graphics I paid handsomely for, for no obvious reason.

    Is there any upside? Well the graphics, even on lower settings, are nice and the level design creative and interesting.

    Regrettably that's all I find to like here. I have played games since Space Invaders days and I know the gaming world inside out. For me this title epitomizes what poor game design looks like which is inexplicable as the previous games in the series whilst not show stopping, were least playable and enjoyable.    … Expand

    Great Experience. Love killing Nazis! I don't get why there are so many reviews complaining about bugs and performance issues. I'm running this game on ultra settings at 1080p and I'm getting constant 144 fps+ with no frame drops with an i5-4690K and GTX 1080.

    Great game with an interesting story, astonishing visual effects, charismatic characters, and kick-ass soundtrack. Bethesda could have made a better PC port, though — I was really frustrated with the bugs and crashes I have had to encounter during my walkthrough. With all these nice words regarding this title, I would love to see the next game and I am looking forward to playing it.

Lack of many features in gameplay (like overkilling cold weapon wield enemy with knife, shooting from rope when climbing a wall, exploring different area and not just a submarine) and lack of that mood which cutscene of Wolfenstein the new order was able to achieve via innovative storytelling which in this case turned to predictable story; turned experiencing Wolfenstein II for a hyped fan like me a little disappointing.
    Also turning shooting from cover something not necessary according to some changes in gameplay which made Wolfenstein something like Doom somehow; plus not having new and memorable enemies and boss fights are another down part.
    Anyway in my perspective, if you are not a hype fan of the new order; it is a decent game and a recommended one.    … Expand

    Somebody should' ve put a mini map or some signs in the submarine, because I spent nearly half an hour to find where the bloody aircrafts are...
    Collectibles were basically impossible to spot, I guess the idea of the collectibles are to be more or less highlighted so when you get your eye on them, to know that is a collectible and just a common object.
    The only good thing about the game was the music, especially while in combat.
    I hope that Bethesda will read some user reviews and the next game will be better done, because overall The New Colossus is nothing more than a catastrophe.    … Expand

    Great game. I have absolutely no idea why this game has such poor user reviews. It's one of the best games of 2017. It's a must have. Fantastic story, gameplay and characters. It's funny at parts and absolutely brutal in others. Highly recommended.

    This is an excellent yet bizarre addition to the wolfenstein franchise which on paper should be a mess but is in fact a technical marvel with a very entertaining / dramatic / disturbing story combining walking simulator elements with doom like chaotic shootouts.
    Marred only by an unusually sluggish feeling fps engine that feels ... off??? I always felt like I was ploughing through the gameplay to get to the walking simulator story sections. This is far too entertaining to miss though! Esp if you are a fan of fps. I recommend playing on easy though else this is a very frustrating game to play IMO.    … Expand

    Game looks great. The constant searching around for ammo and the head bobbing really ruins the entire thing for me. I can play 2 minutes of it before I get nauseous. All the fixes for this keep getting erased by the developer. Just add the option in the graphics. Completely unplayable.

Again, the formula is very much the same with the core mechanics and game design untouched. Subtle things like the characters, animations, voice acting and movement is so natural it's unbelievable. Watching the characters talk and move feels so much more natural and realistic than any other video game I've ever played. The added abilities and perks and upgrades are very welcome, as is the more immersive story and brutal violence. This is Wolfenstein on steroids, with some Saints Row level crazy antics. It's shocking. It's comical. It's badass. It's a rich game world (some of the collectibles' references to Donald Trump are hilarious). It's fast-paced and action-packed. What more could you want!?

    On a technical level, the game also runs well and looks great, though it requires some tweaking to get the best out of it. After much experimentation, I'm managing to achieve a stable 60 FPS using mixed settings (mostly on Ultra) with a GTX 1060 6GB, i5-3470, 12GB DDR3-1600 MHz RAM at 4K (2160p) resolution (albeit with 42% resolution scale)! Though to be honest, the game doesn't look significantly better than Wolfenstein The New Order, and that's coming form someone who played it on Xbox One (though it was one of the first and only shooters to achieve 1080p60 on console, at least at the time). The only real complaint with the graphics is the unsually low texture quality. Perhaps this is a bug or some graphics setting but the textures are definitely inconsistent in quality both between and within levels.

    Finally I have to give this game much praise for something absurdly simple yet practically a godsend: the loading times. I have it installed on an external 7200 RPM hard drive, and it is a big game obviously. Yet after disabling the intro movies (easily done by renaming the video file), from the moment I press "Play" on Steam I can be in the level within 20 seconds. Better yet, when you die (which will happen quite often on the hardest difficulties), you'll be thankful that the game doesn't mess about with ridiculously long death animations. It immediately reloads the last save when your health goes to 0. And guess how long this takes on a mechanical hard drive? About 2 or 3 seconds. Combine this with the ability to save the game at literally any moment along with your progress saving between deaths for things like perk unlocks, collectibles, upgrades etc. and you have a game where you can easily die a hundred times on the same checkpoint and not feel frustrated whatsoever!

    I don't usually write reviews for games before I finish at least the main campaign, but for Wolfenstein: The New Colossus I don't feel I need to see any more to warrant a recommendation. With so many disappointments and shady business practices in the current gaming industry, Wolfenstein II is a shining beacon that reminds us how simple it is to make a great video game. You don't need to re-invent the wheel or do anything drastically different. With incremental improvements in many areas and continuing the story (and without censorship!), improving the game world and not littering the game with microtransactions, whilst keeping features which add value such as challenge modes (and not shovelling in a half-baked multiplayer just because it's a first-person shooter), Wolfenstein II is surely the de-facto standard for modern single-player first-person shooters. It stays true to its legacy yet moves the franchise forward; arguably more so than the similar DOOM (2016).

    My only complaints after finishing the game are the crashes which seem to happen more regularly, the unimproved graphics and worst of all, the complete lack of any changes to the already basic scoring system in the challenge mode.    … Expand

    It's close to being a great game, but the main complaint I have is length. You can finish the game in 10 or so hours (with 100% collection of all side quests with mechanical benefits). So, its fun, but not enough "bang for the buck" so to speak.

    Just Meh. The game was OK at best until poor coding kept crashing it and preventing toggling. and the HW requirements are insane for 21:9 Now a lot of users can't even play it with crash write errors without starting all over. No support, can't play and just a lame linear game overall. Avoid.

The game is insanely short, just when it starts to get going -- it ends. I felt like I was watching a bad movie with an okay FPS shooter sprinkled around it. There are massive gameplay flaws relating to ammo and overall direction in the game that will leave you tearing your hair out at how frustrating some points can be. I never felt Wolfenstein needed a more fleshed out story but here we are I guess -- and how does that story pan out? Terribly. The main villain is defeated unceremoniously by an FMV sequence and the game ends. Such a cop out honestly.… Expand

    Lacking gameplay and too many cutscenes = no fun. Apparently cutscenes are easier to produce than exciting gameplay. The graphics are good but the game is too linear. It's like 'playing' a movie. Difficulty settings aren't scaled very well. Shooting someone in the head 10 times is a bit overkill for "easy". And the Nazi bashing gets old very quickly, We get it - Nazi's are bad. You knowLacking gameplay and too many cutscenes = no fun. Apparently cutscenes are easier to produce than exciting gameplay. The graphics are good but the game is too linear. It's like 'playing' a movie. Difficulty settings aren't scaled very well. Shooting someone in the head 10 times is a bit overkill for "easy". And the Nazi bashing gets old very quickly, We get it - Nazi's are bad. You know what else is bad, this game.

    After reciting some lines back to Hitler and then trying to look for a mechanical arm (I think these parts were supposed to be funny), I gave up on Wolfenstein II. It gets a 4 for an optimized engine using Vulkan, that's it.    … Expand

    I also have this weird feeling that, this game is CONSTANTLY trying to push its SJW agenda onto player's faces? Its kinda irritating.

    Since, I'm playing the PC(Steam) version, I suffered several crashes, which forced me to replay missions occasionally. My PC isn't the fastest, but I believe its more than enough to handle this game. (i5-4690K @ 3.5Ghz, RX 580 8GB)

    New Colossus is still a GOOD shooter, despite my issues with the game. But New Order, in my humble opinion, was still far, FAR superior than this sequel.

Well, as least was nice b4 incident with BJ head - I really was like sitting on needles and thinking - what is going to happen, how he will survive? This hade transport was ... err, I don't know, quite unbelievable. On the other side, Hitler was really cool :D
    As for gameplay - it is solid shooter without much strategic elements, quite challenging - I was playing on -1 of max difficulty. Many different weapons (tho tbh 90% of time I used rifle).

    I played the whole campaign and did some research trying to convince myself that Bethesda and Machine Games weren't affected by the left wing ideology.

    But honestly I failed. And it's nothing about "Making America Nazi-free again".

    Three things in short:

    1. The Polish but non-Jewish father.

    2. The New York underground resistance.

    3. The New Mexico and Texas white supremacy.

    And now we are analyzing them one by one.

    In the original Wolfenstein series, BJ's whole family are Polish Jews immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the Galveston Movement of 1907-1914, which caused by the anti-semitic policy of Russian Empire. W2TNC makes BJ a Texas-born Jew with a Jewish Polish mother but a non-Jewish Polish cruel father. But you can not find much more information about the father during the main campaign and the characteristics really look like right-wing white supremacy racist southern slave owners. There is never a white person inside the United States without obvious pro-Nazi tendency in the Wolfenstein series rendered as a Nazi. This is the first time, not even in WTNO and WTOB.

    The New York underground resistance is obviously inspired by The Black Party of 1966, which is a left-wing Pro-Firearm Socialist black organization who build their finance by selling Maoist little-red-book to left-wing students of University of California, Berkeley. Despite the inspiration by Marxism of the Zionism, the Jews in Soviet Russia were cruelly oppressed during the entire Soviet period from Lenin to Stalin to Brezhnev and the Jews in Poland were oppressed since the 1921-Poland-Russia war until 1991-Soviet-collapse. The Communists killed not so fewer Jews under their overseeing than the Nazis. The Communism-loving Jews like Lev Borisovich Kamenev were executed by Stalin, how could you expect a modern Jew to cooperate with Communists inspired parties like the Black Panther? Never mention that the New Black Panther is an anti-semitic group which is also Pro-Firearm and left-wing and even inspired the costume of the Antifa.

    New York is a tiny land that has only 789 Skm with no much room for agriculture and is Nuked by the Nazi in the game but still can offer shelters, clean food, drinkable water and air for the resistance? I'm not racist but why all young Black Panther and there is only one old white in the New York underground resistance? And the female leader can even breed new-born after getting radiated near the ground-zero?

    For comparing, Texas has 695,600 Skm and the No.1 cattle and calves, the No.1 cotton and the No.6 dairy products in the United States. The New Mexico has 315,200 Skm and the No.9 dairy products, No.16 cotton, and 1.3M cattle and calves produce in the United States. But can not shelter a resistance group with no nukes dropped on them?

    In history, the African slaves were transported to North America through the eastern shores of the British occupied continent, which makes Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina the highest black population states of the US even today. Detroit becomes the highest black population city in the US due to historically more tolerant to African slaves, which by percentage is 84% in around 2015.

    But New Mexico and Texas? They are the top Hispanic and Latino population states alongside with California in the US. By data from the United States Census Bureau, Hispanic/Latino and Black/African population percentage in these three states are NM:48.5% vs 2.5%, Texas: 39.1% vs 12.6%, and California: 38.9% vs 6.5%. It's obvious that the Hispanic and Latino population are totally ignored in the game.

    4. And there are many other details in the game obviously affected by left-wing ideology but I will talk about them some other time.

    Conclusion: Wolfenstein II The New Colossus is indeed turning left and being politically correct.

    I enjoyed previous Wolfensteins and Doom but this game is just not fun at all. Frustrating gameplay, poor level design, broken difficulty. The game just doesn't know if it wants to be stealth or all guns blazing - does neither well. Great music and graphics but the game doesn't have a backbone. Avoid

It had a better story, was much more tense, had more diverse guns. In this game, story tried really hard to be something more what it was in the first, and in my mind, it failed. It had some spectacular moments, like the execution scene, which was well written, but there was just lack of inspiration. Like if there was something holding back the dev team. The music is also as great as in the first one, but not as diverse. They tried making the game more interesting with these body upgrades, but I felt this as a gimmick from the time I first used them, so I haven't really continued using them, because I did not felt as bad-a$$ as I felt in the first game. This made me feel a super hero, which B.J. clearly isn't. For the first half of the game, B.J. is so depressed by his own destroyed body, that it even gave me the same feeling. I felt miserable after a while, because I tend to concentrate on story elements and "be inside the game" when I play games driven by story. Even though you could dual wield any weapon you chose, I felt like the laser rifle, and that instant de-materialising weapon from the first one was much more thought out. I also did not like the 3 new Heavy guns(diesel, laser etc).
    The pre-ending was not interesting at all, with the huge battle on the airship. It was challenging, but not interesting. There were just a bunch of enemies spawned, nothing that interesting there. Oh and let's not forget the anti-climactic ending. I was hoping for an awesome boss-fight like in the first game, to make me want more, but I just didn't.
    The buildings and the level layout was better, looked much more polished, but in overall wasn't as varied as in the first one.

    Overall, I would like a new sequel for the game, because overall it was a good experience, but please think the story through much more, and bring back epic boss fights on the end.    … Expand

    I picked it up for £25 with the season pass yesterday and finished it the same day as it was only 7 hours long which surprised me. I still have the side missions and DLC to do but the campaign is done. I really enjoyed the first 2-3 hours, it started very strong but definitely got weaker and weaker as it went on, and frankly just bizarre. The characters definitely carried if for me, I loved them all and they're were voiced really well, there was also a great mix of sadness and genuinely funny moments. The gameplay was fun but nothing special, I felt there was a lack of weapons and I didn't get anywhere near enough upgrade kits to modify even half of my weapons and I never felt particularly strong? Especially when getting instakilled by a headshot on normal difficulty, I just never felt like a Nazi slaying badass. I did like the inclusion of melee kills but in general the gameplay felt like Doom 2016 just not quite as good, and that feeling also extended to performance, while Wolfenstein 2 ran perfectly fine for the most part there were multiple areas that ran terribly for no notable reason (going from an average of 100fps to 30-40fps). One of the cooler set pieces was also ruined by performance problems due to the game having issues with fire apparently. The game also crashed every time I tried to alt+tab out. I was expecting much better on this front considering Doom 2016 ran maxed out at 100 - 144fps and felt so crisp throughout.

    Overall I was a little disappointed, especially as it started so well, it's not a bad game by any means, but I expected more, and I definitely expected it to run better than it did. I do wish I had waited for a deeper sale now, £25 for 7 hours (maybe another hour from the side missions) just isn't worth it to me, and we all know it'll hit £15 at some point, and at that price point it would be good value.    … Expand

    -The default enemy encounter involves a bunch of soldiers/robots/dogs and a commander who can trigger endlessly spawning enemies. But ANY enemy spotting you triggers the alarm, even if said commander is sixteen rooms over. So you can either attempt stealth or dash for the commander and pray that enough shots miss you that you don't have to reload. Sadly, stealth in this game is not functional or fun. So grab that rosary and get ready to reload often!
    -You can double-fist any weapon in the game, but the interface for switching weapons is BEYOND AWFUL. Let's say that you're dual wielding silenced pistols and see an enemy that requires more firepower. Switching to your machine guns should be fluid, right? WRONG! You select the machine gun, but that leaves you with one machine gun and one pistol. So you press the machine gun key again, and you put away the pistol and fold out the stock on one machine gun. The THIRD press finally allows you to dual wield machine guns. But each of these transitions takes several seconds, and this is not a game where enemies will give you a chance to leisurely swap out weapons for ten seconds every time.
    -I'm not sure if it's the weapons bob, but movement in this game feels off and is slightly unsettling to my brain.
    -Plot and characters is really stupid. You're basically taking on all of occupied America with about twelve people, including old men and pregnant women.
    -The tone of the game is schizophrenic. You spend half the time moaning about dead friends and a broken body and the other half mowing down legions of Nazis with ease.

    Skip this game and play Doom 2016 again. As a Wolf:TNO fan I literally registered on Metacritic just to warn people off this game.    … Expand

    As mentioned before, the level design is really piss-poor and horrifically un-intuitive. Half of the missions have you crawling through endless vent shafts or cloned hallways trying to find some obscure room or button. It's really not that fun.

But I'm pretty sure a lot of people with be hitting the buy button when they see this isn't mindless Halo, Call of Duty, Destiny dreck. In the demo alone they address the treatment of the physically handicapped, body image, fascism, racism, religious persecution, and PTSD issues.

    Much better story in here than I expected. Deep ties with characters, world history, etc. Dig in! There are actual characters, story and ideas contained in this game! Shocking, i know.

    System wise for the PC: smooth and stable for me. (i5-3570k, 16GB, GTX1080) Technically excellent, very stable, very beautifully done.

    BTW, There are no damn loot boxes in here!

    First, make sure you have a PC that can run this at max settings at 4K with HDR because the game is technically amazing and anything less would not do this game justice.     It's been a long time since I enjoyed a FPS as much as I did the New Colossus, I would place it right up near the top with some of the best ever FPS like Half life 2, Bioshock & Halo.

    Anyone who's allowing their own petty political views to taint their opinions on this or stop them from playing altogether deserves to miss out.

    Shooter of the year! It plays great, looks spectacular and sounds amazing. What’s more, despite an apparent lack of seriousness it’s not afraid to bring up difficult subjects, mixing comedy and tragedy in a stunning way. It’s a ridiculously good game. [13/2017, p.30]
