But had to do so in some unknown order combination with rebooting and turning off and on in game since i couldnt repeat the solution. basically its working good enough but still some tearing. also had to disable the dpi resolution option in the executable properties to get 4k to work..oh i also had to install a latest hotfix from nvidia even though the fix said it was for kepler cards i have win 10 and 1080ti fully updated. i guess bethesda doesnt test their pc game on win 10 or nvidias latest cards. Annoying.

Gameplay - 5/10, gunplay doesn't feel powerful, levels are extreme corridor-minded. AI, super agressive - cool BUT you are can die from 3-5 good landed bullets even on easiest difficulty. You'll be dying a lot and you'll rage because epic moments gonna be ruined by insta-death from nowhere.
Story - 6/10 - US under nazi setting is old and doesn't really work. Character's actions are not very natural.

I start a game, excited and so on, it is Wolfenstein II let's kill some nazies.. oh.. what I'm looking at? Some unneeded drama from main hero's childhood. For some reason main hero is super attached to a character who was just a cardboard background in 1st game? O_o... Ooookay. Further cutscenes are trying to show me why Nazi's are a bad thing - I get it... but where is cheesy killing mfking nazies action I loved 1st game for? Nope.. still don't see it.

Next 2-3 hours into the game, I'm raging because of super sensitive main hero's health bar.. it drops from 1 bullet to 10%... I lower difficulty level, nope, still same **** - AI is shooting with 100% precision. Oh! Epic moment, huge experimental soldier-robot appears in the middle of corridor, and...... shoots me dead with 1 bullet, replay from checkpoint>replay from checkpoint>replay from checkpoint>replay from checkpoint.... "i'd better stop playing for today.. may be tomorrow".

So.. you get the idea. BUT I'd say it is very classic FPS from 2000-2005 times. Sadly gameplay is absolutely NOT like DOOM, which was fun, adictive, balanced.

    overall score: 6... sadly.

That is exactly what is wrong with the corporations - creating stuff for all the wrong reasons. Although "The New Order" was absolutely great and gorgeous old-school fanciness, this one can't be further from it. Here you go:
    - the voice acting is just short of vomit inducing
    - this whole mess seems almost like a randomly generated story - the environment is so uninspired - it's a pity

This is all fine by me, but I can't help to wonder, how in the hell most of the youtube reviewers seem to have liked it? Are those corporations playing it backwards again?

comparing to the New Order and cutscenes takes too much time to watch. Level design and gameplay mechanics in whole are not so outstanding like in New Order.

    The political part:

I played the whole campaign and did some research trying to convince myself that Bethesda and Machine Games weren't affected by the left wing ideology.

But honestly I failed. And it's nothing about "Making America Nazi-free again".

    Three things in short:

    1. The Polish but non-Jewish father.

    2. The New York underground resistance.

    3. The New Mexico and Texas white supremacy.

And now we are analyzing them one by one.

    1.

In the original Wolfenstein series, BJ's whole family are Polish Jews immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the Galveston Movement of 1907-1914, which caused by the anti-semitic policy of Russian Empire. W2TNC makes BJ a Texas-born Jew with a Jewish Polish mother but a non-Jewish Polish cruel father. But you can not find much more information about the father during the main campaign and the characteristics really look like right-wing white supremacy racist southern slave owners. There is never a white person inside the United States without obvious pro-Nazi tendency in the Wolfenstein series rendered as a Nazi. This is the first time, not even in WTNO and WTOB.

    2.

The New York underground resistance is obviously inspired by The Black Party of 1966, which is a left-wing Pro-Firearm Socialist black organization who build their finance by selling Maoist little-red-book to left-wing students of University of California, Berkeley. Despite the inspiration by Marxism of the Zionism, the Jews in Soviet Russia were cruelly oppressed during the entire Soviet period from Lenin to Stalin to Brezhnev and the Jews in Poland were oppressed since the 1921-Poland-Russia war until 1991-Soviet-collapse. The Communists killed not so fewer Jews under their overseeing than the Nazis. The Communism-loving Jews like Lev Borisovich Kamenev were executed by Stalin, how could you expect a modern Jew to cooperate with Communists inspired parties like the Black Panther? Never mention that the New Black Panther is an anti-semitic group which is also Pro-Firearm and left-wing and even inspired the costume of the Antifa.

New York is a tiny land that has only 789 Skm with no much room for agriculture and is Nuked by the Nazi in the game but still can offer shelters, clean food, drinkable water and air for the resistance? I'm not racist but why all young Black Panther and there is only one old white in the New York underground resistance? And the female leader can even breed new-born after getting radiated near the ground-zero?

    3.

For comparing, Texas has 695,600 Skm and the No.1 cattle and calves, the No.1 cotton and the No.6 dairy products in the United States. The New Mexico has 315,200 Skm and the No.9 dairy products, No.16 cotton, and 1.3M cattle and calves produce in the United States. But can not shelter a resistance group with no nukes dropped on them?

In history, the African slaves were transported to North America through the eastern shores of the British occupied continent, which makes Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina the highest black population states of the US even today. Detroit becomes the highest black population city in the US due to historically more tolerant to African slaves, which by percentage is 84% in around 2015.

But New Mexico and Texas? They are the top Hispanic and Latino population states alongside with California in the US. By data from the United States Census Bureau, Hispanic/Latino and Black/African population percentage in these three states are NM:48.5% vs 2.5%, Texas: 39.1% vs 12.6%, and California: 38.9% vs 6.5%. It's obvious that the Hispanic and Latino population are totally ignored in the game.

    4. And there are many other details in the game obviously affected by left-wing ideology but I will talk about them some other time.

Conclusion: Wolfenstein II The New Colossus is indeed turning left and being politically correct.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The continuation of a good FPS. No better and no worse than the first part. This is still an interesting shooter with an interesting world and idea.
Unusual staging in cutscenes and excellent shootout won't let you get bored. Also interesting characters (especially Blazkowicz) help you to love this game. But useless stealth spoils a lot!!
And i don't love FPS so much, so only 7.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before I could properly play the game, the game itself crashed my graphic drivers. I spent 2 hours, looking how to fix that, and all I had to do was, I just had to turn off motion blur.
Game itself is meh. Stealth got ruined, if your shot is not well placed and an enemy spots you, that's it, the alarm will go up. Enemies can easily spot you and instantly alarm goes on, stealth mechanics in TNO were way better. You will not be able to complete a level 100% stealth. New guns feel weak, they sound like guns from CoD. Storytelling is kinda ok, but they push leftist agenda over proper storytelling.

The leader of Kreisau circle dies, her place is taken by most unlikable character ever. Grace. MachineGames probably tried to make her look cool and badass, but I hated her, she tries to be a leader, she swears a lot, tells everyone what to do, and it made me cringe so hard. Creators of the game pushed most of that agenda through her (how America is weak and submitted to Nazi's, white people are racist, it's men's fault that Manhattan got nuked, "balls of steel" is a term, that Grace thinks should be more feminine and doesn't like that and the only ones that put up a fight against Nazis are mostly black people, so on and so on). From a zero-f*ck giving Nazi killing machine, Blazkowicz got turned into a little-b*tch, that constantly whines about everything. Internet is full of political correctness and such, I expected to play a game where I can brutally murder Nazi's but instead I got a game, where political correctness, anti-white propaganda is showed down your throat. Soundtracks aren't heavy metal anymore, which pumped me up in TNO, instead it's some loud music, even doing stealth plays. When you f*ck up during stealth in TNO, heavy metal starts playing. But here, the same type of music is playing throughout the level. Heavy enemies, for example supersoldaten are less threatening, and its enough to shoot half a clip of submachine gun into his head to kill him.

During the section where you find out who is sending signals, Supersoldaten that are in Section F are the new type of Supersoldaten, not the old ones. Same goes for the new type of cyber-dogs, that you kill in a sealed off section of the U-Boat, when you try to close a gas leak. You can see how low of an effort was put in.

During the most dangerous missions (for example the New Orleans one), Anya tags along with Fergus (or Wyatt) to help him. Now, what the actual f*ck. The U-boat is FULL OF REBELS, but instead they send Anya, who is pregnant WITH TWINS to fight the war! What about Bombate or many other "fighters"?

Overall, the game is a flop. Storywise it's a huge flop, because it has many plotholes in it, gameplay wise it's a flop too, because the stealth is ruined, guns are weak, enemies are not threatening. MachineGames f*cked up for good, and this shows, that you shouldn't get hyped up for a game. I got stuck at levels, because I didn't know where to go, because there were no proper objective markers. And the most annoying were U-boat intersections, because U-boat is a labyrinth, and you have to navigate your way through it, doing side quests and whatnot.

    My main gripe is that:
Gameplay in New Colossus, is more "Take Cover and fire back" than the old-school Run-and-Gun style especially at higher difficulties. The issue is that B.J's Health is limited to 50 for 2/3 part of the game. This makes combat less, "fluid", since you're forced take cover more often.

Honestly, I just used 2 weapons at most, throughout the entire game:
the default Nazi submachinegun and the Assault rifle. Fully upgrade those two, and you can kill 90% of the enemies in the game.

Story is overblown to becoming downright ridiculous and stupid. It's CRINGEY at most, and many of the characters are annoying, to be honest.
In fact, there's more cutscenes than actual gameplay.
I also have this weird feeling that, this game is CONSTANTLY trying to push its SJW agenda onto player's faces? Its kinda irritating.

Since, I'm playing the PC(Steam) version, I suffered several crashes, which forced me to replay missions occasionally. My PC isn't the fastest, but I believe its more than enough to handle this game. (i5-4690K @ 3.5Ghz, RX 580 8GB)

New Colossus is still a GOOD shooter, despite my issues with the game. But New Order, in my humble opinion, was still far, FAR superior than this sequel.

And why the black aunt fills with everything? Who is she in general such? The ending in general crosses out everything as it is possible to make the plot culmination murder of some cranky Nazi, it is simpler only in games of the Assassin's Creed series.

I had come to enjoy the mini FPS renaissance we've been having in gaming over the last few years with Wolfenstein: The New Order and the revamped DOOM. This game, however, just isn't on par with those titles.

Perhaps then, that's this game's purpose. Where the first reboot was very much right place, right time to remind us what made story driven linear FPS's great and why they dominated the gaming scene for so long, then Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus exists to remind us why they fell out of favor so dramatically. Save your money, this one isn't worth the time.

Note: I have no problems with the political controversy surrounding this game. Shooting Nazis is fun and if you find yourself upset with the idea of a brutal Fascist regime being taken apart brick by brick, it says more about you than the media. I will say, however, I believe the developer embraced the controversy as a way to hype a game they knew was deeply mediocre. This game earned it's rating on a wonky story, crummy gunplay, and it's penchant to spawn enemies behind you and in blind spots.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Cutscenes. lots of Cutscenes. I was screaming at my monitor by the end of the game, how dare they put those moments in grainy, 30FPS, 720p cutscenes. even a quick time event would have been preferable.
The gameplay is a little rough. They took TNO's gameplay, and applied sandpaper. Stealth is pointless now, you aren't going to be able to successfully stealth it, yet the game features so heavily on commanders and stealth kills.
The story is OK. not quite as grasping as the previous games, and quite wishy washy and muddied.
Back to cutscenes. so many cutscenes. anything important that happens is in a cutscene, and this is a shame. there are many beautiful interactive moments back at the home base, and it is a shame this wasn't expanded to the rest of the game. Of course certain scenes have to be cutscenes, but there were far to many.
Lets also not forget the "it as only a dream" level. And how there are many obvious open ended plot points (and a few plotholes that only a second playhtouigh may clear up)
As for the bugs, the game ran very smooth for me on a mid-high PC, but a few issues with mouse pointer popping up, broken level waypoints and the odd texture / mesh glitch. two hard crashes (during cutscenes, now you see why i'm not keen on them!)
Either way, 15 hours of entertainment, may consider trying to 100% it, don't feel empty, but don't feel full (and i'm someone who very much focuses on 100% games)
Its not the bombastic power fest that TNO was, but a steadier gentler trudge through the Wolfenstein world.

The characters definitely carried if for me, I loved them all and they're were voiced really well, there was also a great mix of sadness and genuinely funny moments. The gameplay was fun but nothing special, I felt there was a lack of weapons and I didn't get anywhere near enough upgrade kits to modify even half of my weapons and I never felt particularly strong? Especially when getting instakilled by a headshot on normal difficulty, I just never felt like a Nazi slaying badass. I did like the inclusion of melee kills but in general the gameplay felt like Doom 2016 just not quite as good, and that feeling also extended to performance, while Wolfenstein 2 ran perfectly fine for the most part there were multiple areas that ran terribly for no notable reason (going from an average of 100fps to 30-40fps). One of the cooler set pieces was also ruined by performance problems due to the game having issues with fire apparently. The game also crashed every time I tried to alt+tab out. I was expecting much better on this front considering Doom 2016 ran maxed out at 100 - 144fps and felt so crisp throughout.

Overall I was a little disappointed, especially as it started so well, it's not a bad game by any means, but I expected more, and I definitely expected it to run better than it did. I do wish I had waited for a deeper sale now, £25 for 7 hours (maybe another hour from the side missions) just isn't worth it to me, and we all know it'll hit £15 at some point, and at that price point it would be good value.

Fast-paced and shooter with an interesting story. A ton to collect and upgrade. The only thing that really bugs me, is the platinum trophy, which is simply impossible. Why? You have to finish the game in one attempt on (8-12 hours) "Mein Leben", which means the difficulty is extremely hard, no checkpoints, savepoints but permadeath. A bit exaggerated and a turn-off for trophy hunters.

More of the usual hordes of enemies against a single player instead of less in numbers and more in intelligent plans of attack. Enemies spawning behind the player in impossible areas is just lazy programming to creat a false difficulty rating. The lack of a chapter replay feature, present in all other Wolfenstein games, is a big loss.

On the defaults, you can't hear feedback from surfaces you've shot, and you have no idea at first if your shots are landing on the enemy or even yourself. For a game with good voiceacting (for the most part) it's sad how poor the SFX and audio mixing were. Expand

-Shooting feels sluggish even at 60 fps???

This is an excellent yet bizarre addition to the wolfenstein franchise which on paper should be a mess but is in fact a technical marvel with a very entertaining / dramatic / disturbing story combining walking simulator elements with doom like chaotic shootouts.
Marred only by an unusually sluggish feeling fps engine that feels ... off??? I always felt like I was ploughing through the gameplay to get to the walking simulator story sections. This is far too entertaining to miss though! Esp if you are a fan of fps. I recommend playing on easy though else this is a very frustrating game to play IMO.

I really enjoyed the previous games of the franchise but not this one.

PROS: Good graphics + Cool guns + Correct checkpoints

CONS: no controller mapping!!! i can't believe in 2017 a big game like this don't allow you to swap axis (i'm use to walk with the right stick and shoot with left) or refine other buttons

But not only few german artconsumers consider it negative that publishers of the Wolfenstein series are seemingly no longer fighting for their worldwide freedoms in art and entertainment as a part of democratic communication-expression in the public, so that isolated concerns about original-versions are unfortunately still overrated: also such an overstated german caselaw is outdated and needs a reassessment. Already for years more "artistic" entertainment products from german index fall as new ones are indexed..welcome to new millennium!

On top lacks a creative multiplayer, which is already standard in games of this price range.
Apart from some performance drawbacks on weaker laptops, there are in all 7 points out of 10.

Game is ok, not as good as New Order. Not the subtlest game. Metacritic seems to be the land of the lonely gamer who hates the left wing because they are inherently anti-social and because they play too many games. It's cyclical. Funny. And sad. But mainly funny.

Shooter of the year! It plays great, looks spectacular and sounds amazing. What’s more, despite an apparent lack of seriousness it’s not afraid to bring up difficult subjects, mixing comedy and tragedy in a stunning way. It’s a ridiculously good game. [13/2017, p.30]

The re-ignited fight against the swastika is great action fun once again. It is a pity that a story is not intriguing enough, and it applies to it: what’s long, is stupid. [Issue#280]

Hopefully, by the time Machine Games starts work on Wolfenstein 3, they will find a writer who understands that fast-paced action does not mix well with protagonist’s constant complaining. [Issue#225, p.52]
