    Game is receiving bad reviews because of issues with servers on the launch day (due to the massive users concurrence). This happened even to Diablo 3 and not represent the quality of the game.
    I could appreciate Act 1 in the early access and the game looks really promising.
    I set a 10 to bring a little bit of balance here...

    The game underwent a rocky start. It was in development for a period of time before being entirely scrapped, to start new because the developers didn't like the way it was shaping up. More funding was available, they had more resources, and there were advances in graphical/gameplay technology. In comparison, the new version of this game is infinitely better. Of course this had it's lasting effects on players, as their opinions were quite harsh towards the company because of the scrapping of the original game concept. Players still like to hold that against the game, to create the negative reviews/comments that they do... But the game, as it is currently (Once the server issues are fixes due to the large number of players that the SMALL company did not expect) is rather amazing. It's next gen graphical advantage puts it above other ARPG's, and it's ability to offer hybrid playstyles far out does any other game in the genre. It needs some love around the edges, but it is still in a new, large competitor for the titans in the genre.

    The long and short of it is.. It started out rocky, there were some questionable decisions made... But those decisions really paid off to make a great game, regardless of the people using the long development time/project scrap to make unfair reviews.    … Expand

    It's pretty much what I was looking for; an action RPG that takes its story a bit more seriously, while being more coherent than others. Game play wise, it's very much a "best of" blend of Path of Exile and Diablo 3. I mean that in the best way; if you liked elements of both, you -will- enjoy this.

    What sets it apart is the focus on movement in combat. This is not like other ARPG's, in    It's pretty much what I was looking for; an action RPG that takes its story a bit more seriously, while being more coherent than others. Game play wise, it's very much a "best of" blend of Path of Exile and Diablo 3. I mean that in the best way; if you liked elements of both, you -will- enjoy this.

    What sets it apart is the focus on movement in combat. This is not like other ARPG's, in which you just choose your one or two favorite spells/ abilities, and spam them all day. You have to space out your actions, and you absolutely have to dodge, charge, and generally do more than just stand in one place.

    There are some niggling issues, mostly to do with rough edges. A couple of enemy hitboxes are hard to highlight, and some UI elements are not as responsive as one would like. These are, however, things that can easily be addressed in patches, and nowhere near the disastrous issues that plague many AAA titles on release.

    All in all, I highly recommend this game to anyone whose looking for a plot focused ARPG!    … Expand

    This indy game would be a master piece into the Hn'slash landscape.

    Some polish is still needed but wow for this price... donno other game with this quality.

    People a so dumb... rating a game 0 because they can't log in... The quality of the game have nothing to do with that. Anyway... Love the game, love the gameplay, love the story!!! So far so good!!! It's nothing really new but at the same time really refreashing.

Bugs are fixed at each hotfixes and the servers are now working. The core of the game is really good, with a nice gameplay feeling.

    it's the kind of game I love, better and deeper than the Diablo but you don't have to study a career like in the POE. I know it's gonna give me a lot of hours to play.

    I really like this game. I think it has great potential and I look forward to its development. Next, please optimize and fix the errors. Good games are worth our wait, I hope players can give more tolerance and patience.

    Don't let whiners fool you. The game might face some network issues because of suddenly rising of players at the start, but the game-play is good and the interface is shiny. Never regret buying this diamond.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People keep comparing the game to Diablo 3 and Path of Exile. Games that have been out for many years and have had many years with patches, fixes and optimization passes.

    While there are issues with the game, admittedly, not everyone experience them. I personally haven't experienced it, albeit i play solo and not online.

    Ability nodes do have issues with balance, but this is something that Diablo 3 and Path of Exile still have issues with. Abilities that are too OP or some that does less than intended.

    The game itself has a deep and well written lore and a story, albeit only 3 chapters, that is longer than even Diablo 3's story.

    The loot system is quite good and isn't as harsh (in my opinion) as Diablo 3 and Path of Exile, though it could definitely do with some improvement.

    After the main story is finished, that's when the real game (and fun!) begins, because Wolcen have unique features that neither Path of Exile nor Diablo 3 have.

    You get to build up your city and do lots of activities. Far more interesting than the mindless Greater Rift system in Diablo 3 at the very least.

    Then there's the soundtrack. It is the first time i have actually bothered listening to the in-game music while playing a game of this genre. It is hands down the best soundtrack i have listened to in years.

    Graphic-wise, it is beautiful.

    Animations are very good and spot on.

    Controls are responsive and spot on.

    Voice acting is spot on and the dialogues are well written throughout the entirety of the main story.

    I'm not giving it a full 10/10 however, because as i said, there are issues they do need to solve, however, i won't slaughter it like other angry reviewers have done due to encountering a few bugs in-game in multiplayer.

    They need to get the bosses fine tuned and balanced along with their abilities.

    They need to sort out the apocalyptic forms, because they are simply too weak and act more like an invulnerability shield than anything else.

    The game is far more enjoyable than Diablo 3. It is somewhere between Path of Exile and Diablo 3 which is a perfect mix. Also, graphics is just miles ahead of other aRPGs.

    I think its a really good game and i don't get the hate for the login problems.
    Just few hours into the release and also first game for a small studio. Yes, its kinda like Diablo 3 (mostly because its hack n slay) but its a total different game. The early access was good and the final game looks even better.

    While this game has struggled with server issues during launch the game has played great. I love the story and combat. The combat feels so refreshing and evolved as I play along with the game. I can't believe how beautiful this game is. The environments are stunning and I'm excited for the future of the game.

    I have over a 100 hours into this game atm and it never ceases to amaze me how in depth the developers made this game. Given time and updates I see this as a viable competitor to diablo and path if exile.

    I understand, if you are new to online games and you don't know that any online game will suffer at the beginning from server issues you may be confused or mad so 0 score may be relevant. However, giving low score because you couldn't connect the first day while you also have offline mode to play with is just being negative troll.

    There is a multiplayer problems and few bugs, but we must understand that this is a small indie group of developers that realesed a better diabloid game than blizzard after diablo 2 LOD :) so a little bit patience. We must give a chance to developers :)

    Hack 'n Slash rpg done right. Bugs aside Wolcen is a great game. It feels like a AAA title. Graphics and music are top notch. Story is capivating and I am enoying this more than Diablo 3. Gonna be awesome when they get the multiplayer ironed out.

    For a indie company, Wolcen its a awesome game, with very interesting build system, graphics and history. "dark" maps remember diablo 2, anyway good game and good investment. Game have some bugs and server issues at the launch but have a good Community Manager , always close to the players , with fast informations, some negative reviews here are not justified.

    The game launch was a bit complicated but then you have to remember Diablo 3 launch where nobody was able to play for 48 hours (it's clearly not that bad).     It's fun, it has good loot, a lot of build possibilities and customization and the graphics are amazing. Despite the Bugs the Game has on release, we had a lot fun playing the campaign and still have fun in the Endgame. Not a must buy, but it is worth the 40$ and your time.

    This game is everything I wanted from Diablo 3. I've avoided Path of Exile because I simply don't like the "pay-to-win" aspect (yes ik you can be F2P but the cost of respec and option to buy items/mats is still a turnoff). I loved Diablo 2, I played +3k hours of Diablo 3 despite the problems I have with the game. I've been hyped for Diablo 4 since the announcement but I'm convinced Bliz will screw that up just like Warcraft 76 Refunded. So Wolcen seems to really fill that hole and provide the lush grimdark Warhammer similar atmosphere and easy to learn, difficult to master game-play.    … Expand

    I don't understand why launch server downtime should affect the permanent rating given to a game. The servers are up now and the game is simply excellent.

    Wolcen has raised the bar for all hack and slash ARPGs. It has better story, gameplay, graphics and sound quality than Diablo 3, Path of Exile 1 and Grim Dawn. I am having this much fun after a long time.

    I have to say I like this game a lot, the gameplay, the complex talent tree gives an air or versatility that hook you into the game for hours, the downside for me it's the history, I could be more engaging but I feel it ran out of steam at the end, anyway so far this game fulfill the majority of my expectations, I wish they keep going with the good work and polish the game thru time.

But dude seriously you have offline mode just go and play offline while servers are down. For a 20$ (it's probably higher now) experience I bought during beta this game is just too awesome!     There are many bugs at launch. Online servers appear to be crumbling under the pressure, which is a problem that likely should have been figured out prior to launch. All of that said, I think this game does a lot to further the design of the modern ARPG. Graphics are impressive for an ARPG.     All of that said, I think this game does a lot to further the design of the modern ARPG. Graphics are impressive for an ARPG. Combat is aggressive and cathartic. The resource management system is very satisfying to use. Here's hoping Wolcen Studio is able to get this game working well soon before enough people are turned off of this game to handicap the potential that this game has. I love the art direction and the mechanics and controls are very tight. I have had a decent experience with this game and I'm loving it so far. I can't blame anyone for giving this a lower score though since I can only say that the issues facing this game haven't affected me personally enough to tank my experience. I would recommend it to ARPG fans that would like something different. If the idea of bugs is off-putting to you, then I would wait a week or two for the issues to get patched out then jump on board.    … Expand

    This game is so good! Yes it could be more polished but I have only had 1 crash in 30 hour game time.
    Really flexible class building and lots of action! Graphics look really nice and so ist he combat.
    This game is definitely worth it's money you gonna have a blast!

    i never played the game at launch looking at reviews it must have been a mess but this game is amazing now. after i killed my first mob i was hooked the sound and feel is so good. graphics are so good really sad how much hate this game has

Gostei muito do sistema de atributos e skills , certamente faz o jogo ser único. Estou chegando no conteúdo pós campanha e é bem interessante e tem vários modos de jogo. O jogo tem alguns bugs mas nada que quebra totalmente a experiencia.O jogo tem gráficos muito bons e tem uma ótima jogabilidade!     An excellent game by all accounts, even if buggy at launch. Sinking hours upon hours with my friends. Point by point:

    - Visually great - Story, characters and dialogues are a breath of fresh air, something that mature audiences will appreciate. There is no bland and generic good versus evil, it's more realistic. - Lots of content - Great transmog, cosmetic capabilites - Great skill graph,    An excellent game by all accounts, even if buggy at launch.     In this current states, some bugs and servers issues, nothing that can't be resolved in the near future. Don't forget it's a little team behind it, still the work is insane, the graphics are great and well optimized. Great potential, let it grow ! Don't take the 0/10 into account, it's just frustration of impatient peoples.

    Este juego es canela en rama. Cierto que salió con una gran cantidad de problemas y bugs. Actualmente lo estoy jugando, otra vez, con un personaje online y está fetén!!! Además, lo desarrolladores prometen actualizaciones y nuevo contenido de forma continuada. Altamente recomendable si te gustan los arpgs

    I have not enjoy arpg for a while, apart from the lunch crash that i was expecting, this game has already lot of feature that took year to implement in other game, the graphic are nice, i wish there were more cgi cutscene but the story telling is still really good, i hope the will had more content to keep playin relevent!

    Currently the best ARPG game, also better than current Diablo3 version. Although there are lunch release problems still, everyone are able to play due to implemented offline mode. Online will be fixed soon. But the game itself is having the best game mechanisms, content and beautiful graphics

    I have followed Wolcen as a project very closely ever since the kickstarter campaign, and I'll be honest, It seemed so ambitious on paper and I had no idea if it would deliver what it was promised or not . Wolcen did indeed deliver as it turns out. It is a fantastic action RPG. It's gorgeous. The gameplay, the skills and the character progression is fantastic. People would be astonished if they knew how small the project team was when they started compared to the team they have now, and the results they provided. This game is a real success story in the current video game industry landscape. Play it, and enjoy it.… Expand

    People are very salty on this game, and a lot of people finds the first boss to be to difficult. The fact of the matter is, you should not put evrything in damage output, sometimes defense is a good thing! The game is interresting, and the skill tree is very cool! I am still wanting more, and I think has patch come out we will get more!

    Game has excellent gameplay, beautiful graphics, interesting story and a decent narrative. I really like how it gives you the freedom to play any style you want without being too overwhelming (looking at you PoE). To me, it is the right balance between Diablo and PoE. There are problems though, it is still a little buggy; music goes off sometimes after a big fight and    2080ti / I9700

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The online mode had huge issue at the release of the game (5000 pre order, the studio rent server for 10 000 users but got +/-130k users the first day of the release, so server down), but you have so much to learn about builds !
    Every run is fine, I'm not a big hack'n slash player but this feel right: elite or boss that you can find in your run can OS you even if you are tank with a shield and this force to dodge to follow the strat, and to me it's a good mechanics, you have to stop rolling your face on the keyboard if you want to survive, plus you have only 3 rez per run.
    The end game content is huge, you'll have to upgrade your town to unlock reforge, item upgrade, and other.
    The skull tree is huge if you like to theory craft you would love it !
    For 30€ it's na amazing game, the next story update is in 4 months, 1 new act and maybe HM mode.    … Expand

Maybe there are a few games, but they are in other game-genres. In terms of ARPG Wolcen is the most beautiful with its incredible landscapes, weather effects, and special effects in battle, and every visual aspect of the game is wonderful.
    The sound effects in battle are striking - making your attacks almost palpable together with the animations of the enemy as they are hit - some player-mob positioning should be specified yet - but the battles are very satisfying and successfully build the feeling of "I want it again".
    Other strong aspect of the game is the music, which is a masterfully composed orchestral flow with smooth transition between the pieces. Epic soundtrack with heroic parts when nice tunes are played, and with beating parts with strong drums for the darker battles. So the 8 hour orchestral soundtrack is very diverse, and contains excepcionally beautiful parts, and exceptionally thrilling parts. The music is so great that i would listen to it forever, and together with the incredible graphics the immersion is irresistible.
    On forums there are players who suggest to go back to GD or PoE or DIII, but before that, i suggest to everybody to give Wolcen a try. Because after Wolcen all the mentioned ARPGs will look expired monochrome-interlaced VGA games with cirip sounds.    … Expand

    A great game with a lot of loot and independent character creation and building. However could not give a higher score due to the multiple bugs experienced but I am sure that Wolcen Studios are working very hard to iron them out.

    If I was going to rate the game on how well it handled its launch I would rate it pretty low. But if you but the launch issues and some of the bugs aside it really seems to be a fantastic game. I know people are upset they had to wait to play but I still find it a very entertaining ARPG. The story is pretty cool combat is pretty fast paced and awesome the boss fights are pretty challengingIf I was going to rate the game on how well it handled its launch I would rate it pretty low. But if you but the launch issues and some of the bugs aside it really seems to be a fantastic game. I know people are upset they had to wait to play but I still find it a very entertaining ARPG.     Game is receiving bad reviews because of issues with servers on the launch day (due to the massive users concurrence). This happened even to Diablo 3 and not represent the quality of the game.

    Zerei todos Diablo, olhei pra este jogo e curti o que eu vi e comprei,e já estou bem longe no game e até estou gostando muito, muito mais do que Diablo 3,até agora jogando offline não tive nenhum travamento ou bug no Xbox série S, achei o jogo bonito e pra quem está reclamando e dando nota baixa está inventando....
